As an engineer main I can say this video is accurate.

Def check out the bonus vids to these vids of how LazyPurple animates, it's entertaining itself to see how user unfriendly SFM is. Also Lazy references Uncle Dane in the vid, and Dane's content is also entertaining to watch as he's a pro Engineer that likes teaching other players.

The Engineer is one of the most important classes in the game because it can boost your team's efficiency significantly. With just one Engineer, you can set up teleporters that will save a lot of travel time, especially after you die (averaging about 30 seconds). I once had a round where 100 people had used my teleporter! Additionally, the Engineer's dispensers heal people, give them ammo, and can even be used to jump up to higher places. You and other Engineers can get generated metal out of the dispensers, which saves time compared to collecting them via ammo packs around the map. The Sentry is incredibly strong, able to kill most classes in just a few seconds (it's unbelievably strong). Every building of the Engineer is upgradeable, starting at level 1 and going up to level 3 if you have enough metal and hit it with your wrench, much like the dwarf dude from Overwatch, you can heal the sentry by hitting it. Once a building reaches a higher level, it gets a significant stat boost overall. The teleporter will have a shorter cooldown time once a player has teleported. the dispenser will heal people faster around it and produce more metal, and the sentry will receive a huge damage upgrade. Every building will also gain more HP per upgrade. Finally, with all the variety in the weapons loadout, the Engineer (in my opinion) is one of the most fun classes to play.

Seeing as "How it feel to play the Medic" hasn't been made yet it looks like it's gonna take a while for them to play TF2

This is only tangentially related to Engineer himself, but since you've seen a few of these videos now, I feel like tossing my own two cents into the mix: the lineup of TF2's classes, from first to last, is kinda the best example of the game's "difficulty curve". Like, the first three are Scout, Soldier, and Pyro. Scout's double-jump, speed, and boosted cap-rate give him a lot of utility, but he's also incredibly easy to pick up and play; you run around and shoot people with a little shotgun, bam, you got it. Soldier's rocket jumping is harder to learn, but even a novice player can still get good plays out of him because he's got a rocket launcher, period. Pyro is the hardest of those three to manage because his flamethrower works differently and there's a lot of different ways he can help the team, but in the right hands, he can be very versatile. Then, you have Demoman, Heavy, and Engineer. Demoman is similar to Soldier, but you only have projectile weapons (no shotguns or anything hitscan), and you generally need some experience and map knowledge to play him well in a defensive role. Heavy is even harder, because he's slow and has some glaring weaknesses, but in the right situation he can shred an enemy team. Engineer is the one that requires the most map knowledge so far, because he's explicitly designed around his buildings - you need to know chokepoints, good sentry spots, ideal places to build your teleporters and dispensers, etc etc. Lastly, you have Medic, Sniper, and Spy. Medic doesn't have a lot of offense and a clueless or lost player can easily get focused down, so you need decent map knowledge and you need to stick close to your teammates. Sniper's difficulty is mostly aim-based, but you need map knowledge to know where the sightlines are, and you need good game-sense to know when you might be getting flanked or need to change positions. And Spy, of course, has all three requirements: a solid basis for gameplay, map knowledge to know where he can go and where others might go, and good gamesense to know when to stay hidden and when to go in for the play. It's a really interesting balance overall, I think, and it's a big, big reason why TF2 is still so beloved. Even back in the launch days, when all we had were vanilla weapons, the class design was incredibly strong.

Even if you aren't good at Engie at first, it would be a good idea to practice, because there is a combat vet that reacted to this and he said something vital, amateurs think tactics, professionals think logistics.

each engi can have 1 of each building 1 sentry 1 dispenser 1 tele entrance and 1 tele exit and a casual match can have 12 max players on 1 team which if they all pick engi you can have 12 of each biulding (this only is counting 1 team) but if you want to know how many with both teams you can have 24 of each biulding 12 on red 12 on blu. 4:50

You guys really need to do a reaction of "end of the line sfm" it is easily one of the most popular animations i believe it won a community award of some sort and its my absolute favorite, hope you guys can give it a look sometime!

i like to play Soldier and Pyro in Casual Matches to keep a balanced middle ground of Attack and Defence but on most CTF maps i choose a lot of Engineer as a Defence or Anoyance to the enimie team when i place a teleporter in their base and my team manages to keep them at bay for a leat 10 minutes befor my nest goes down. But a thing Lazy dident say is that sometimes YOU ARE the reason why people start using things that are mostly only good against engineer like spy or the cow mangler or direct hit wich is a good rocket luncher but most cant aim sooooooo.

You guys should definitely reacts to emesis blue. One of if not the best SFM movies I’ve seen so far.

For a fun experience I recomend the comunity servers, especifically the ones of Uncletopia (from Uncle Dane), so you have minimal chance to find bots and ugly stuff.

As an Engineer Main, I am offended we didn't see any Extreme Rancho Relaxo plays in this.

What I play as depends on my mood, the game mode, and the specific map. Heavy or Pyro if I'm warming up. If I know the map well enough to know some good sentry gun spots engie. If my team is pushing the cart I like to play Heavy and push the cart as often as possible because that gun chews through ammo and the cart keeps me reloaded. On a capture the flag map I like engie, the gun either goes in a place they have to go through to get to the intel or it goes in the intel room if the enemy keeps getting through the rest of the team. If we've got plenty of engies already but they're having a spy problem I go pyro and equip my homewrecker so I can pybro for the engies a bit. Stay by their machines blasting my flame thrower to burn up spies and swinging the home wrecker at any machine that gets sapped. I also like to go pyro on maps where I can air blast people off cliffs to kill them.

Honestly I'd prefer if you watch Uncle Dane's "How to fight every class as Engineer and win" video before getting into TF2 so you have at least a bit of how TF2 works so you don't get confused. Basically Overwatch but with Extra steps and more variety and freedom in gameplay and more game modes to try out.

As someone who has never played team fortress 2, I can say this is very accurate.

I play as Solider and Demo because my aim sucks and with those classes you only need to get close to hitting the enemy to deal damage

Don't know if you guys played overwatch before but if you have check out overwatch vs. tf2, but explained with food. It's funny and super accurate with what makes tf2 special by comparison.

This is killing me ok so I know someone has probably told y'all already but most of the weapon skins in the game are different versions of that base weapon with unique effects with the exception of the different cosmetics (hats shirts pants and miscellaneous) and some special exceptions like the portal "ap zap" which is a actual skin of the zapper again there are over 150 unlockable unique weapons with there own unique effects in the game and you're just going to have to play it but for newer players heavy and engineer are the easiest to pick up

It doesnt matter how many videos you watch Tf2 isnt a game you can just pick up for the first time an expect to have a clue or chance at. I know you guys got a lot on your plate, but can you react to kick buttoski suburban daredevil? Episode story 1 and 2 are a bit odd, but episode 2 story 1 is where it really hits off. Unlike most shows where the protagonist is wimpy or nerdy, Kick is the definition of badass. His friend gunther is the friend everyone needs (and he shares the same voice actor as Percy from Amphibia) Wade is the friend everyone wants.
