I think his uniqueness attracted people's eyes first and then of course "saw" and appreciated rest of BTS numbers. The other members are super talented but sometimes it takes something unique and different to stand out and he did it for BTS. I heard this from many people and I agree from personal experience.

❣Jimin has the most amazing background that gives him ability to do everything with the most amazing skills, talent, & athleticism! Since mid-school, Jimin excelled at all kinds of sports, especially soccer, great at basketball, also track & field, even billiards. Jimin, since he was a little boy, had 8 yrs training in various (4), forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts! He even uses his abilities, his amazing inner core strength as well as his phenomenal flexibility applying it to his many times, gravity defying dance moves as well! JIMIN has background at young age of 10, first studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, then started studying & performing contemporary dance, learned some ballet, even traditional Korean dance! Jimin has been able to incorporate all these different dance styles, along with his gravity defying martial arts abilities into his own unique, ever so special dance abilities! Which is also the reason JIMIN has been awarded the prestigious title of Best Kpop Dancer 5 yrs in a row!! Side Note: Apparently when learning Taekwondo, as a little boy, I beleive Jimin said that doing the splits was one of the first thing required to be able to do. He said that he'd put his legs split, up against the wall for quite long, hrs at a time in the beginning..He started at such a young age and trained for 8 yrs various forms of martial arts, even wanting to be the best swordsman in the world, so he took up Kendo after watching the anime 'One Piece' and wanting to be like his fav character Zoro.. Even when he was a little boy, whatever Jimin did he had to do it to perfection! He even won many competitions and awards for being best, when it came to competing in martial arts as well!

What you are describing here, is a consummate PERFORMER. Jimin always performs with every tool available to him… his dance knowledge/training, physical ability/skills, his vocal skills, his EYES; his musicality, etc…all important to performance! Some of the clips in this video were not that old. As long as he takes care of himself physically and emotionally, he can have a very, very, very long career…even if parts of it change focus. That is what is so great about being so talented in so many areas. He can nurture some and enhance others, as needed. Love him! 💜

I’m sure there are a couple of members who I are strong enough to may be do one or two of the acrobatic moves, but Jimin is the only one who can do it as gracefully and effortlessly. His facial expression is beautiful while doing the moves. And he has the most beautiful body lines and each picture frame is pure art!

I strongly agree with you regarding how important Jimin is to the BTS choreography. I feel that he also plays an equal role of importance with his singing due to his unique voice and ability to reach such high notes. Amazing that this one man could, and did, change the way the choreography and music were designed for BTS, the most popular musical group in the world. All the members of BTS are extremely gifted, but Jimin possesses other additional skills that place him a category unreachable by any other artists currently performing. As you can tell, Jimin is also my bias.

But I think without Jimin they never would be where they are stand. He attracted much attention to them in early days because of his dance and the famous acts. true about the adding unique style to the chorography. remember in black swan when they implemented modern dance to their movements and jimin was the center figure. and also in idol when they each jumped and also blood sweat and tears the floor grinding hehe. JK and Hobi is also good at handstand and jumps. it´s so cool that they used the members strengths insted of the companies idea. this was BTS ideas working with the company. witch most other groups dont do they are just given a concept and some songs. also i have never seen dancing like BTS does. it´s so unique all the others os more hands movements and hardcore manly attitude. witch i dont like. bts is funny when they dance too and they can be graceful and powerful. they have a dance for almost every song and it´s so detailed.

Fun fact: Jimin was the last member that joined BTS. His training period was the shortest (8 months i guess) and he was fired a few times while he was a trainee because BTS were created as a hip&hop group in the beginning. (There were vocal group and hip&hop group of trainees, i guess Jimin was in the vocal group) Jimin was a top class modern dancer in high school and he had to learn hip&hop from the basics to fit in. His talent and ability to have control over his body helped him learn in a very short time. He himself said that he thought that Bangtan was not gonna be his group when he joined Bighit because he lacked in many things. But thanks to his talent and hard work, he was chosen and took center’s parts on many choreographies. I can’t imagine BTS’ rookie performances (No More Dream, We Are Bulletproof pt.2 and Danger etc.) without Jimin. He literally jumps and flies in the air. 😂 their choreographer Son Sungdeuk is very lucky to have him. (honorable mention: he has a black belt in martial arts just like Jin and Jungkook. They can cut people into half with a single kick 😂)

Jimin’s ability to pose so beautifully in “flight” (to me) has to be from his years of his martial arts training but a huge part is due to his years of ballet and contemporary and classical training! Man has been dancing his whole life practically. And you can tell he pays attention to every minute nuance in the choreography performance. I could watch him just dance all day and never be bored!!
