She made this performance to be ironic since her song is about always wanting something new and her staging was basically the same in my opinion it’s a really smart move and good luck to her! My fav for the contest.

In my opinion the smartest thing that Konstrakta has done with this performance is that the conversation does not end when the performance is over. You can hear a lot of reviews saying “oh I wish she has done something NEW” and that is what the performance is about - we always want and expect something NEW and BETTER. Well, let me tell you, this IS new… and better. 💪🏻

Song is called New, better and the tittle card in her performance said "episode 2, not new and not better." thats exactly what you said in the comment, and she is one step ahead of you ;) Why would anyone ever make a same performance again? its unexpected and based on theme and her lyrics a smart move.@@MultiSky7

The lyrics say : something new, something better, and she was also hinting something new and better as a performance this year. And then she goes and does the same thing again, only now she's kneading dough. The "Episode 2" sign in the beginning says "Neither new nor better". The woman is a walking troll :)

I love the dough as a prop. You need to let dough set and rise over time, but here she's constantly kneading and checking if something has changed, which ties into the theme of the song about wanting some new and better "now" and the pressure that brings. This and in corpore sano capture her anxieties in such an immaculate and personal way. Her songs really are multifaceted, and it takes me many listens to get a holistic understanding of them.

A masterpiece, intelligent, funny, catchy, she is my winner of ESC if selected. I was expecting a new crazy staging and the fact that she took the same as previously is just pure genius. That is the surprise I was expecting from her, something totally unexpected. Love Love Love

I've read her lyrics are a critic of public figures like politicians and artists always promising new and better things to gain attention just to end up doing the same stuff over and over again, so in that sense her performance is kinda genius (and it's actually better than her previous one)

By now, enough people explained the meaning behind almost identical staging, the lyrics and the dough. I would just like to add, I don't think Konstrakta was planning on winning with this, it's more about the message. Even in the green room when the hosts were talking to them, she said that "eurovision is good for promotion... of music". She's there to promote herself and have fun!

The song is called "New, Better". In the lyrics she says "doctor, I don't know what is wrong with me, I always want new, better." Then she is doing the same old, a variation of her previous performance. I think she wants to say that we basically repeat ourselves. Idk. Im just in love with it.

She is trying to bake a bread which is not working. It's a reference to the lyrics where she says she always wants something new and better, and that the new and better thing is coming. But she never says when it is coming (probably never?). People always want things to be different and better but do not change anything for it to actually become better. That's why the staging is very similar. It's not due to lack of creativity or ideas, it is exactly how it should be

The screen says 'Episode 2: Neither new nor better'. At the end of the song she screams: 'Here it comes. Doooctoooor!' It sounds like she is giving birth to a baby (she really looks pregnant at the beginning) and the baby (shiny bread, i.e. her art) looks just like baby Jesus. People on stage are wearing napkins (kitchen cloths) and waiting to consume her art, saying 'Not good enough'. She also mocked most of the audience that has been waiting for something NEW and BETTER. You should have seen her hugging a huuuuge loaf of bread od stage. 😁

The performance being similar is the entire point of the song. The song is about always promising new and better things however never delivering. She keeps repeating the phrase “Evo saće”, in Eng “its coming”, however in never comes. The song seems to be meta-commentary on politics. In the pre-chorus she mentions (not in the same order tho) “Brže, jače, bolje”, in Eng “faster, stronger, better”, which is the slogan of Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić. There is a phrase in the Balkans “Isto sranje, drugo pakovanje”, in Eng: “Same shit, another package”, which encapsulates this performance perfectly and explains why its so similar to ICS. The text on screen at 2:32 literally means neither new nor better.

Someone explained this perfectly: “Long story short for who doesn’t understand the language: she is saying how everything is about to changed for better, newer, prettier and we are always being told that something better is coming, but it never actually came (referring to better times). So by being satirical, she is asking a doctor what is wrong with her by wanting all of that. She is being sarcastic at the same time because the government is always promising/saying how “better” times are coming, but it ends up being the same. Also on the screen at 0:46 it says “neither new nor better”.”

Moj komentar. Promjena jedino u posudi, u odnosu na njenu raniju. Ma da sam primijeti da pregledom svih do sada predloženih za Evrosong, sve pjesme imaju isi, ili sličan ritam, samo su vokali i zvuci muzičkih instrumenata različitih.

Ohhh, thanks for this comment!! I was hallucinating because no one made reference to the crosses (orthodox I imagine) and the scene in which he presents the "body of Christ" which is the bread in the basket, just as his birth is represented in the scenes of Christianity. I thought I was overthinking things 😅 Konstrakta, as always, with many intelligent meanings. I love her!
