I apologize in advance for the huge text on screen, youtube has been copyrighted my reactions to led zeppelin live performances, something has to be partially blocking the screen in order for me to upload it, sorry about that but i hope you guys still enjoy!

JBJ liked being more obscure, he had more freedom in public then the others. He’s the classically trained out of the 4, never underrated to me, he has his times to shine & his bass is often mentioned. Watching them play live, you get even more respect for them, their improvising is amazing. Their little signals helps keep everyone in sync, the more lives you watch, the more you’ll notice them.

Love this 4-song set. I watch it over and over. Iconic. First time you hear “Let me introduce Led Zeppelin to you.” 20, 20, 23, 25. So young but each one incredible, together - spectacular. Such charisma. IMHO, Robert Plant’s voice here is the best ever. The raw sensuality, the power, the range. Jimmy Page just ripping on that guitar. You can actually see how amazing John Paul Jones is during this set. Then John Bonham, hitting those drums like he needs a new set every concert, plus you get to see his right foot do the triplet. For me, the most influential Rock set ever.

Nice. Reaction and performance. This one is invaluable for Zep fans if only cos it shows a LOT of JPJ getting down and dirty with his bass. Dancing, even, you could call it! I just realized with this "many times"-seen vid how I've been sleeping on how cool the bass/drum jam is when Jimmy's mesmerizing with his bow!

Back in the day, for the purposes of recording on tv, audiences were expected to contain themselves, as it was considered disrespectful and rude to other audience members to be loud or rowdy. Societal norms were such that your own behaviour should never encroach negatively on others, which meant that most people did not need to be told to keep themselves in check, unlike nowadays, where consideration for others, is not even a consideration for many. Thanks for the reaction.

They were amazing together right from the very start. You can really tell they were just meant to be, right? And they were so young too. Robert and Bonzo were just 20 years old here. JPJ and Jimmy were, I believe 23 and 24. Such incredible talents.

The TV producer told the crowd to keep it reserved because it was live on TV! That's why Jimmy Page never did TV live performance Jimmy didn't want people to tell Zeppelin's crowds to be quiet!

This is also one of my favorite songs from album 1, and this is an incredible performance so early in their career. Three things were immediately apparent watching this performance. These guys were supremely gifted musicians, they were on the same wave-length from the start so could go with it when any one of them started to improvise, and Plant had incredible stage presence even at the ripe old age of 20. lol Thanks for another enjoyable reaction. I've been listening to Led Zeppelin since they dropped their first album and enjoy them as much now as I did then, maybe even more. There were/are lots of excellent bands out there but none ever captured this kind of magic. Watching great reactions to their music is icing on the cake! Thanks!

Detail: The attendance status of a TV program around 1970 was often comparable to a “church visit” with permitted civilized final applause. There were only a few programs where dancing was allowed. The TV station didn't want any street hippies or even rebels. I always thought that this was only the case in Central Europe. Enter Deep Purple Child In Time (anti-war song/Vietnam) Live BBC 1970; It was no different even in the land of pop and rock. Main statement: LZ LIVE is a completely different musical dimension with a lot of improvisation similar to blues culture, changed when LZ came under pressure because of punk rock and turned more live to hard rock. In the past, artists earned money from composing and albums, while concerts were viewed more as promotion due to the high costs (incl. travel). Today it is mostly the other way around; Everyone can think about the consequences.
