Wonderful to hear. Jack Edwards The cathedral and castle are a must if you like architecture (or music, sometimes bands practice in the cathedral. And if it's warm (in the summer) there's a grass area in front of the cathedral called Palace Green, people sometimes sit there having fish and chips or reading. Walking by the river is quite relaxing too and you can watch people rowing. I also really like a place called Wharton Park which is at the back of the train station. Not many students seem to know about that area so it's quiet. I'd give you a tour but I'm actually going on my year abroad so won't be in Durham for another year or so! But it's quite a small city so you'll be able to find stuff easily.
