I beleieve her company is called "created by Laura" they would be fine for a guinea pig or rabbit but the quality of the fleece is not there. The stitching is already coming loose and the fleece is worn and she charges a fortune. Will probably leave a review on Amazon but will never buy from her again

Some chinchillas won’t use a wheel, and it definitely is not an essential item as long as your chins have space in their cage and time to run around outside of it. If you are wanting to keep trying, I would suggest using treats like rolled oats as a motivator

Season Storm A chinchilla’s native habitat is in the mountains where they have to jump a lot and considering they can jump up to 6 feet, they really need to have that jumping enrichment. If they can’t jump they may become bored which would lead to a state of depression.

Boomer hand feed! Hand feeding gets them used to your hands and it’s easier to bond with them.

I’ll list off all the mistakes i made as a new owner so you don’t have to learn the hard way. they can’t eat any fruit vegetables or seeds/nuts. Their diet should only consist of hay/ quality pellets. red Oxbow / science selective is the best chinchilla food brand in my opinion. Plastic is toxic to chinchillas if ingested do not use any plastic huts and if you get a cage with plastic trays make sure to cover it with fleece. paper bedding is dangerous because when swallowed it will expand in the stomach and kill them. only use anti pill fleece, aspen or pine bedding. If you’re going to give treats oats , rosehips , apple sticks , organic bee pollen are the best treats. :) Treats should only be 10% of a chinchillas diet (they should only get treats 1-2 times a week) the other 90% is hay & pellets. Chinchillas do not need a wheel but if you’re going to buy one i would recommend the chinspin but that is $120. I’ve tried other wheels and that’s the only one my chinchillas actually used. cages i recommend: critter nation ferret nation (for the critter and ferret nation the single story or double are both suitable sizes) I don’t recommend getting a cage with a lot of plastic. kaytee cages suck. They need dust bathes every two days do not leave the container of dust in the cage 24/7 because that will dry out their skin and they will end up using it as a litter box and the dust / urine smell really bad😭.

I’m genuinely curious if this is true or not and where you got this information because I’ve seen FARRR too many people say this for my liking. I doubt they can’t eat it at all, if what you mean is they can’t have nuts, seeds, fruits, or veggies as their daily diet like hay and pellets and should only be given as a treat- then that’s completely fine.

No, I wouldn’t. They can’t withstand high temps above 72, nothing under 40-50 degrees. Also they’re fast and there’s almost no way to bring them outside.
