Hello and welcome to our channel!
You know we love to chat all things broadway over here, so today we're talking about "slime" tutorials. We are even going to be sharing some small clips of ones that really motivate us to keep going on. Another disclaimer: DO NOT DO THIS IN THEATRES. it's a rule, and if you do it you're breaking it and causing a massive distraction to performers and other theatre goers. We agree that broadway needs to be more accessible but this is not the way to do it! We are glad these clips exist though, it's complicated.
Enjoy!

And without slime tutorials, I would never have gotten such convenient access to be able to see my favorite Broadway musicals whilst quarantined. I've literally watched pirated OBC "movies" of "Wicked" more times than I've actually seen "Wicked" in person. I only saw it once in person, but I've watched the show through slime tutorials numerous times cause it's so rare to get a full videotaped version of the show. Since Broadway doesn't openly provide us with footage of Idina, Kristin, Norbert, and Taye in "Wicked" like they did with "Hamilton."

Two of my fave musical vocal choices: Sam Pauly as Katherine Howard in Six, when she literally sobs and gasps for breath after she screlts the end of “All You Wanna Do”, it stands out from every other person before her. And in Hamilton when Emmy Raver-Lampman famously optioned up as Angelica Schuyler during the last chorus of “Satisfied”, HOW?!

If Broadway could have a private livestream link, where people like me that's sickly, in Oregon who cannot just jump on a plane to see a show, CAN pay for a Broadway seat and watch the show through a go pro strapped to a wall up high so its not in the way.... More tickets sold, we pick the day we see the show. The wheelchair seats arent the best anyways, LAST LAST row, I didnt know there was a dragon on the ceiling when I saw the show in person, UNTIL I saw a bootleg. I saw people cheering at the beginning before the Orchestra started. I thought maybe an actor came out. Nope it was the dragon You know the MET does special streams, why not Broadway shows?

If they started professionaly recording shows for the people that can't ever see the show (they live too far away, it's too exspensive, the show shuts down, etc) then slime tutorials wouldn't be required. I've been able to enjoy Broadways shows that don't exist anymore this way, or see the original broadway cast, etc. But if I ever have the chance to see a show, I still would go and see it in person. I've watched both the OBC and Ciara Renee's runs of Frozen's slime tutorial and yet I'll still go see it in person on tour this summer because live theatre is a whole different experience to youtube videos.

Thank you so much for sharing this and your wholesome feelings on the power of what these slime tutorials can capture forever:”) The illegal magic of them legs in boots really brings happiness to my heart since I can’t always afford to stand in those boots at the live performances😂♥️ Much love to you two please keep your quality content coming!:) Love, an aspiring actress ready to hit the stage again✨

If I could actually give my money to buy tickets I would. I have the money and the love to do so. But I live very far from New York and sometimes there is no other way to get theatre content than sloppy slime tutorials. My favorites: Frozen (with Ryan of course) and Tuck Everlasting. Also Ryan talking about Patti LuPone had me crying I was laughing so hard

As much as slime tutorials are a no-no in the theatre world, my broke ass has no other way of enjoying "live" theatre performances besides what is posted online. As you said, theater is currently so inaccessible besides the rare pro-shots. Slime tutorials have introduced me to shows I would have never heard of otherwise and through that meant that I was able to show support in other ways via social media, official posts etc.

Slime tutorials have definitely made me love Broadway more. I grew up on the film productions of various Broadway shows like Phantom, Joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat, Chicago, ect. But being able to see the actual stage productions makes me want to see them live in person eventually. Last year I managed to get my hands on some cheap wicked tickets. I have been a fan since glee and watched the slimes for it but my friend who I brought with me never seen or heard it before. So I was able to share that with her.

Oh my god, you were my first Hans! I saw that slime tutorial when I was living abroad and I loved it so much that I decided to see it there even though I wouldn’t understand all of it. I wish I could have seen you perform it in person but I was able to see a touring production in English this year!

I just want to say thank you. I loved when you talked about make broadway more accessible, and just how you talk about it in general. I'm French, and I live in France, I discovered Broadway not a long time ago, and it's with Hamilton on Disney+ that I began searching a way to saw some musicals. Because in France, we don't have this culture of musicals, there's some famous French's musical like "1789 Les Amants de la Bastille", "Mozart l'Opera Rock", etc... but it dated to the begining of the 2010's, since then, there's nothing. And I love how Broadway in on constant renew, there's always new productions, old productions that come back to life... And as a French who wants to know more about Broadway, it's sometimes hard to find something. There's the barrier langage because if I understand English, I'm still learning it, but the biggest problem is the accessibility of Broadway. The slime tutorials are really helpful, but I wish there was a way for people like me, who don't live in the USA, to know more. Your channel is a way for me to connect to Broadway, so thank you.

I’ve never filmed a slime tutorial myself but I was given exclusive access to an “I’m the damn fool that shot him” slime tutorial by my high school director years ago since his friend filmed it of the OBC and I had the file on my laptop so I was watching it on a plane once and a lady in her thirties (I was still a teen lol) literally across the aisle (we were both in window seats) and back like three rows saw that I was watching it and legit offered to pay big money if I would email it to her. This was years before the Netflix version came out lol. My pride that I was the only one who has it was too much for me to give it to her 😂😂 but I have this story so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi! Just wanted to say that I saw Ryan in Wicked in March of 2019, and the cast was absolutely mind blowing. I thought it might have been him when he mentioned being Fiyero while Jessica Vosk was Elphaba, so I looked it up. You’re a brilliant performer, and the show was pretty near perfect that day.

I totally understand why people don’t like bootleg theatre but on the other hand like Ryan said it can be so inaccessible. Like if you really wanted to see specifically Ryan in frozen or something and never got the opportunity the only way you could is by bootleg or a show you want to see but there’s not movie rendition or anything it’s your only option

I have not seen some of these. OMG! I swear you two are always introducing me to more magical theatre moments. I also love hearing Ryan's stories. I love slime tutorials but I wish they didn't have to be done. Honestly, got to see so many shows because of them but wish theatre was more accessible and didn't cost $300 to see some of these shows. Like I would love more pro shot shows like Hamilton. Obviously, seeing Hamilton in person would be way more thrilling. I got to see In the Heights after it won the Tony with the original cast and it was the most magical experience. But getting the Hamiltion disney + version filled my tiny heart. Even the pro shot of Shrek was great. Just do more of that. Rent it or buy it for x dollars. People would happily do that. But then you could end up getting the problem of no one actually paying the top dollar to sit in the theatre when you can sit at home for less. And the potential of Broadway losing thousands of dollars. IDK it's rough. I'm appreciate of slime tutorials but it would be so much nicer if people could go see a show, feel comfortable, and not break the bank.

I am from Turkey and musical theatre became one of my passions after seeing a bootleg. I feel bad watching it for free but I also have no chance to see it live. When I have enough money first thing I am gonna do is to travel there and see a broadway show live. It's one of my biggest dream.
