The poison in his veins is lyme disease, which causes a lot of different types of pain. So the lyme disease is sending signals to his brain that causes pain, which has lead him to changing his frame of mind from who he was before the lyme disease.

He still has to get daily intravenous treatments because of the Lyme disease he got from a tick. He was misdiagnosed and his body and mind were being attacked by the disease and they were treating him with medications to cure his mental illness that they thought he had.. Took a long time and keeping well enough to make his music , stem cell treatments and special diet are necessary after a doctor finally correctly diagnosed him after years of suffering.

Also Helter Skelter means disorderly and confusion, which is a reference to him being undiagnosed for years and suffering from psychosis "confusion" because of it. You have to know his entire story to understand that every word he writes is absolutely relevant. He's mot just throwing words out to fit a rhyme scheme. The man is a lyrical genius but if you don't know his whole backstory it's not always going to make sense. And it's difficult to know everything about him too. I've spent way too much of my life watching Rens interviews and live streams lol. Just trust me every word has purpose and is relevant. I could actually break this one down line by line and explain how it all is relevant to what has happened in his life but it would take me forever lol. Basically the song is referencing his illness and everything that went with that, and him growing up in hip-hop music and the culture. Also just some fun braggadocios ish thrown in there as well.

Ren's not doing drugs as you interpreted it, It's the medication he was given, when he was misdiagnose with ME. When he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme Disease. The side effects the medication, he was given for ME (which he didn't need) ravaged his body. Ren made this vid in 2015, you can tell, he looks younger 😊

I always try to remember that Ren's lyrics aren't always LITERAL. Like, I believe when he said "poison in my veins" is a reference to all the wrong drugs that had him on, and all the crazy treatments he tried, before they found out it was Lyme's disease that was making him so sick he couldn't function. He said that at one time he was trying to give HIMSELF I.V. fluids...not sure if he was ever an IV drug user like heroin and stuff. Maybe dabbled not sure. But he never speaks on it. The second set of bars that you didn’t get is comparing his music to a nuclear explosion, so it’s a play on the different types of radiation(alpha, Beta, Gamma) and then if it’s too much for you, he’ll help you into the fallout shelter ( nuclear bomb shelter). He’s also flexing in this song rhyming bars using ‘t’s) because it’s supposed to be more difficult and he’s just cruising through it.

The bars become easier to track when you know him a bit more. There are very few words in any Ren song that don't have meaning. Though sometimes that meaning is a bit whacky. He likes some fun.

Ren has been living through hell for 13 years before this release, He is the definition of a tortured soul. L copied this and post it on new reactors messages. He was bitten by a tick when he was 16 or 17 He got really sick from it and went to doctors and they could not figure what was wrong with him. When he had joint pain, muscle spasms, skin rashes, boils, internal organs started shutting down, And Doctors had no idea what was going on. He was loosing weight and had constant fatigue could not even stand to shower.. Doctors started sending him to psychological evaluations, They told him his mind was making him sick ! And started treating him for that with some heavy pharmaceuticals. And all that shit really fucked with his mind, He started believing he was crazy. And this went on for 8 fucking years !! 8 YEARS !! He pursued his own symptoms and lead to a Doctor that gave test for Lyme disease. Where he lived it was very rear to ever contract Lyme disease so he was never tested. When he went in described his symptoms the Doctor knew what he had. Ran the DNA test and found it in his system. However it has been in there for 8 years and has done a lot of damage to his body. He can only eat like 6 things his bones still hurt and the autoimmunity may never be healed. He had to go into surgery to remove tissue to generate stem cells grown outside his body then under go treatment taking the stem cells to remove the Lyme disease chromosome. That was in LA then he went to Calgary and under going treatment on the damage the Lyme left.. He is still there until June

Once you get more Ren reactions on here, you'll blow up fast. For me, I don't like the tension of having to know the lyrics first time through, but I get it... I just prefer "vibing" to the sound, catching what I can and on later listens, reading lyrics.
