I just googled the flower as I wanted to know what it looked like. Apparently it is called "Felsenteller" (rock plate) in German... We sure do know how to give things the most unpoetic name that's possible. 😅 Thank god this song is in Serbian!

To add some context to the visuals: even though Serbia is landlocked, there is a sea at the very beginning of the song. It is rather dark and gloomy. There is a historical sea in the ramonda story and it is Ionian Sea near the Greek island Corfu. On their desperate retreat towards the Corfu, serbian army during WW1 had to cross the Ionian sea. The people were in such a bad state that many of them never made it to safety or recovered.More than 5000 people died, and their bodies were buried in the water. It would probably explain the dark colors, and also the tone of the song. It sounds like a lullaby for those sleeping in the depths of the sea. Still, ending is the one of hope not despair: hope is the cradle of rebirth. That is what the flower symbolises.

Maybe it's not the fact that it's a slow song, but rather that it's not energetic or loud enough. It rather lacks something to latch on to and doesn't really build up. Plus, I'm also not sure about its lyrics.

This purple dream is Eurovision winning material - not only because a ballad will absolutely stand out at Eurovision this year, but also because it represents the spirit of its country in a way that makes me shiver in front of this mesmerizing beauty!💜🪻🇷🇸 I do understand the profound meaning because I am half Croatian, but even if we don't look at borders and nations, "Ramonda" is a haunting mélange of velvety melancholia, spectral grace and deepest emotions! And there couldn't be a more suitable voice to share this multi-layered message with the entire world: Teya Dora is not only a heartwarming human being and exceptionally gifted artist, but has the ability to seduce the masses with a voice out of this world. Vocals and songs don't always need to be loud and sharp to cast a spell over the universe, and in this case a dark lullaby is predestined to make this world a better place. Ramonda only needs one drop of water to rise from the dead - and if we look at the current state of our world, a sweet masterpiece like this has never been more necessary than now. Like the flower itself, "Ramonda" grows and grows and grows with every single listen, its putting me in a trance at night and day, and I'm already sure that Teya's magic will heal all the suffering in the world in May. This entry fulfills me on the deepest possible level and it speaks to my soul as if it was born within me!💜🪻✨️🌙

I really love this song. The staging I agree is too dark, at times she disappears because she also is wearing dark colours but I think a bit of tweeking with the lights and cameracuts can fix that. The story of the song is so beautiful..wether you see it as an hommage to the fallen of WWI or give it a broader meaning of going through a personal battle and blooming against all odds, it all works. She sings it with such reverence which I think is beautiful. The quiet determanation of Teya Dora throughout the performance with the purple glimmer of hope towards the end is more impactful to me than a big climax. Also a lot of countries have a flower as an armistice symbol. A poppy or a cornflower for example. And some countries have certain flowers as symbols of peace for other wars or revolutions so I think people will understand the imagery as that of resiliance, hope and light after darkness of any kind. I believe this absolutely should be in the final and probably will be. My wishful thinking has this pegged as a top 10 candidate...but then I thought that of Luke Black too so what do I know 😂 Either way good luck to Teya Dora and to Serbia ❤❤❤

Historic part of this song is referd to Serbian sacrifice in WW1, specifically about Albanian Golghota or Great Retreat. When Serbian army after the attack from 3 sides it was decided to retreat over mountains of Albania to Greece. The whole terain was extremly harsh and it was winter. Around 300 000 people perished and when they made it to the island of Corfu thousands more died and were buried in the see. That part about mountains and white glow talks about whole passage throught the mountains. And the section under the water is about all those that canot rise and see daylight which is represented with morning star Danica (Venus). And song can also be seen as personal, about hardship and strungle and overcoming the ods and raising from the ashes to live again. Best regards from Serbia :)

Natalija's ramanoda, known as the "phoenix flower", became a symbol of Serbian suffering in the First World War, when almost a third of the total population died, since it has the characteristic that when a dry period occurs, it lies dormant and dries up, so that with the appearance of water it "resurrects" and turned green again. Rebirth is associated with the fact that Serbia also managed to "stand on its feet" after an exhaustive struggle. Well done to Teya Dora and good luck

I watched PZE yesterday I this show is so much better compared to our Dora in Croatia. Amazing! Basically, competition without bad song with great hosts and production. And the only think I don't like at PZE is voting system. Yes,because of that a lot of people in Serbia are mad cause votes 5 jury members are basically equal as 45000 votes for Breskvica and I can fully understand them. 😃😃😃

- The song "Ramonda" by Teya takes its name from the "Ramonda serbica" flower, which is found mainly in Serbia and nearby regions. This flower, discovered by a Serbian scientist in 1884, has a remarkable ability to revive even after completely drying out, earning it the nickname "the phoenix flower." Similarly, Natalie's Ramonda, a close relative of the same genus, is known in Serbia as "Natalijina ramonda" after Queen Natalija Obrenović. It became a symbol of victory in World War I, representing Serbia's resilience after losing nearly a third of its population. - The song explores themes of loneliness and the resilience to bounce back from adversity, mirroring the Ramonda flower's ability to revive with just a drop of water. The official video clip includes a quote from the Gospel of John, emphasising the enduring power of light over darkness. - The island featured in the video represents Corfu, Greece, where Serbian soldiers found refuge during World War I after facing dire circumstances. Greece provided Serbia with essential support, although many perished upon arrival and were laid to rest at sea. This aspect of the song serves as a poignant tribute to ancestors who overcame overwhelming odds...

This id my first year tuning into other country national finals so knowing there were a good few other songs I liked way better than the winning one is a new sensation. for me it is a decent balkan ballad. I don't like it as much as Slovenia, though... I'm a bit worried for its chances. The countries still to go in semi 1 (Portugal, Azerbaijan and Australia) are not the least, so it might struggle to get into the final. I think Serbia will get a very similar result as last year: borderline qualifying and a quite anonymous passage in the final finishing 17th-22nd

Maybe I am wrong, but could this song have been voted for political reasons as the Serbians are currently protesting against the Vucic administration who is doing nothing to adress the weapon problem and instead stokes tensions with Kosovo? I assume that this song's message is appreciated by these protesters as well. Or am I completely wrong and have no clue?

None of my 3 favorites in Serbia made it sadly, but this is a solid entry. Way too dark and depressing (and boring?) for Eurovision, but there aren't too many slow songs this year so I expect a pretty high finish.

I think this will qualify and 5-10th In the semi but in the final juries will like it but it won’t do as well with Televote as there are a lot of crazy entries but this will definitely stand out if there are

I think it's borderline, probably just missing out on the Grand Final. It kinda lacks energy, a build-up, etc. And this might not be enough for the semi-final of death, where it's also in the first half. Zorja would have been a better option, it's also a ballad, but louder and more energetic and with a better build-up and more vocal moments. Konstrakta would have been better as well, also because of the staging and its message. Other great options would have been Breskvica (won the televote, and I don't know what this song is about, but supposedly it might have a great meaning as well), Zejna, the couple, the rock band, etc. This song wasn't on my radar, and I didn't remember it anymore after watching a short recap of PZE. And it's great that we have songs that we can cross off our lists, Cyprus, now Serbia. Others like Lithuania, Iceland, or Moldova might miss out as well, but unlike the aforementioned, I don't even mind them in the final

Thank god somebody else agrees with me I really honestly cannot understand the fuss about this song. It's a mediocre haunting style ballad. Nothing stands out as remarkable or interesting to me. It's probably one of those I'll skip on the CD. But like Ukraine I don't understand why everyone's getting their knickers in a twist about two really dull songs

I really don't understand the fuss??? It's not unpleasant it's just incredibly boring. It does nothing particularly and goes nowhere. I think maybe it's standing out because we have so few ballads this year. It just sounds like something from the 1990s when everyone was doing bloody enya rip offs It will probably qualify but I doubt it will do well on the actual finals tonight. It's not memorable I've listened to it three times now and there is no hook. Music is supposed to grab you and do something to you this just bores me.

Takes too long for me to get anywhere. What's the hype? The lyrics may be good but I don't understand Serbian and too lazy to invest myself in the meaning. Musically, its not annoying at all, but these ethnoballads have been done at Eurovision 20 years ago or more.
