It is so upsetting that from the very beginning they received so much hate. They couldn't believe that people from other countries also loved their music and it help them in this. But all their hard work paid off. We love them now and always from Texas, USA.

The lyrics of I need you..were actually supposed to be "i need you friend" but they thought girl would fit the song better..but when you watch the MV keep in mind that it's actually about them, as in i need you "friend"..as they are going through a lot in MV, so they need each other to stay sane..and ofc it's a part of BU..this is where BU starts

The accusations came from jealous ppl that were mad that BTS were overtaking their fav artists from the big three (bigbang, exo, etc) who had historically been the only companies to create the “big acts” of K-pop. BigHit did not have the money to be buying back albums, they had spent a lot of money making their previous album (dark & wild) and it did not sell as well as they had hoped (something they’ve openly talked abt since then), the release of HYYH was like their last chance, their saving grace, they NEEDED this album and the tittle track to do well in order to not disband due to lack of funds. I think it’s one of the reasons many ARMY hold this era so dear to their heart, as does BTS. In 2025, when they all come back from the military, the HYYH era will be having its 10th year anniversary and the boys have been teasing a project related to this to celebrate the anniversary. I honestly can’t wait to see what they have been cooking up hehehe. Not to mention this is the start of the BU, the events and character in the MV are related to the fictional storyline that runs through the BTS albums. Each member is playing a character, also there are basically 2 MVs for this song, one “censored” and the original version, so if you plan to react to it make sure you look for the original one.

I Need You starts the BU…something I still don’t understand fully 😂 eventho I’ve watched so many explanation videos 😂 and yeah Joon really had so much on his shoulders at such a young age and he carried that weight so well. I will always be grateful for him and all of them for surviving all the hardships they went thru to be where they are today. 💜💜💜

HYYH The most beautiful moment in life is perfection. The union of the music, the lyrics, the esthetic of HYYH, the new wardrobe and hair style (Mint Yoongi!!) the videos, the BU is a total moment of grace that is unique in their career. For me even if BTS only released the trilogy HYYH part 1/part 2/Young Forever, I would still be forever grateful. In 2025 when Bangtan returns they will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of HYYH, this should be epic🌸

In fact, this accusation was even ridiculous, since Big Hit at the time was barely able to sustain itself, so it wouldn't have all the resources to buy victories from them. Throughout their career they suffered from haters. Watch the video "BTS Hardships 2013-2021". In this video you can learn about his struggles. Fortunately, today they have recognition and are powerful in the Industry, but they suffered a lot until this happened.

Ohh, the beginning of the HYYH era. I love it so much, it will forever be one of my favorites. The whole concept is so precious and the music is freaking exquisite. 😭

This was the time when the attacks by the Big 3, the media and other fandoms really ramped up. Before this they were being attacked but not in such an organized way. There is even an incident were SM tried to buy BTS from Big Hit becaude they were becoming a threat to their boygroup EXO. They did the same before to Infinite, the group that you mentioned not knowing, because Infinite was becoming really popular. So SM bought them from their small label and then shelved them (not letting them release anything) till their popularity waned and they practically fell off the face of the earth. The same would have likely happened to BTS had Bang PD and Big Hit not held firmly onto them. The Sajaegi scandal was another thing that was provoked by the Big 3, who also used their media connections and the fandoms of their groups (thru their fandom managers) to bring the rumour up and fan the flames. And many other fandoms and general public believed it because BTS was overtaking famous groups in Korea like Big Bang and EXO, because they didn't know that BTS was more popular then these groups outside of Korea, so many of their views, sales, votes and streams came from outside of Korea. It even got so bad that Big Hit and BTS had to go to court to defend their innocence, which they were proven of in the end. They were announced not guilty because Big Hit opened up their accounting books to show that they didn't even have enough money to buy back the albums so the claims were groundless. It were scary times for ARMYs as well, because many of them were bullied in school and online for liking BTS. (older ARMY can give you more detailed accounts on what went down in those times this is just what they told me) Like Namjoon said, some of their darkest times were between 2015 and 2017.

The shots in the vid that you were concerned about are part of the Bangtan Universe (BU) Lory... it's a backstory and none of it was based on anything that happened in the real lives of the members... Its deep and complex... there are a couple of really good explanation videos if and when you're ready to delve deeper.

Only problem is ROB glorifies their journey a bit and doesn't show their hardships pretty much at all, which is why this might shock you but bts were VERY close to disbanding before this due to lack of funds, they weren't doing well enough to stay afloat monetarily. Yoongi said that he actually wrote I Need U with the mindset that it was their last song, they thought they were going to be forced to disband, but thankfully I Need U blew up in a major way and saved them, after that every release was bigger than the last :) BTS were monster rookies who did very well with making fans and having that connection, but it's expensive to be in the kpop industry and having a lot of fans doesn't cut it. They got no work outside of music that would give them money, they weren't paid for a lot of their gigs, they couldn't book things like commercials, appearances etc, all because they were from a small company, but small company idols really need those things to bring in revenue. This is also why wins on music shows are very important to small labels, especially that first win, because it signals to other shows and companies that the idols are popular and worth hiring/bringing on to shows, it brings a lot of job opportunities with it. This was also their second major disbandment scare, because before danger they were also very close to being forced to disband, but BigHit actually got an investment from another company before danger which helped them get danger out. They put their everything into danger, including the new investment money, and when danger didn't do as well as their previous song that's when they thought they were doomed, but thankfully their next release was I Need U *(Credit to lovely ARMY: @iduli02)*
