Example: the warriors can trade their 2025 draft pick but then that means that they can’t trade their 2026 pick because it’s the consecutive year to 2025. That’s why the nets traded their 2014, 2016, 2018 picks because those skip years and aren’t back to back.

The Stepien rule is where a team can't trade 1st round picks 2 years in a row it has to be spaced out. For Example, Brandon Ingram can be traded for a 2024 1st and 2026 1st but a 2025 1st can't be in the deal.

celtics were good 08/09, 10 and 11. Allen left in 12 and won with heat, so they traded the best players for the picks at that point. Celtics even screwed up one of the picks, trading it for Kyrie, and it still worked out. The Porzingus trade was originally for Brogden, but the Clippers rejected his health, the Celtics had to make a decision quickly, and had to send Smart instead.

Flight the rule basically means what it is saying bro. The number pick depends on how bad the team is that originally owned that pick. So the celtics owning the nets pick doesnt depend on how bad the celtics do but how bad the nets do. Because trading firet round picks in consecutive years can cripple one team so bad and help another team too much the nba stepped to make it even out. Hope that clears it up.

That IT finished 5th in MVP. Second team all NBA. He literally avg 29 a game the year before. What some fans don’t see is when certain guys gets an opportunity to be the man guy they show out but not many guys can still be as effective when they don’t have the ball. We seen so many guys shine in the NBA and once they get moved to another team it seem like they just suck but it’s not the case. That player just don’t fit in that system. Russ is another good example he is the type of player who is very ball dominant but with guys like them will more than likely never win a championship. You need a team to do that and I think Tatum figure that out. He literally avg 30 last year and this year he went down to 27. Playing more defense and passing the ball more. Setting up screens and just playing off the ball at times to still make winning plays. Tatum wasn’t having the best shooting night in the playoffs but still find ways to get his guys going and not turning over the ball like he did in the past. He definitely still shoots the ball a lot but he is starting to attack the rim more. In game 5 in the finals was the perfect example of that. His shot wasn’t falling and he attack the rim all night and he also had 11 assists. Now he is a champion. What will be scary is if the Celtics are fully healthy and if Tatum starts playing that way and his shot is falling. Those guy have a great shot at going back to back. Just need to be healthy and hopefully we will see them play healthy teams as well

People focus on yeah they only won 1 - but take a look - since 2017 no team has won more regular season games OR playoff games than the Celtics, not even the Warriors. Of course the Warrior won titles since then but the Celtics were alwasys in the mix, just a few games here or there and they could have gotten 1 or 2 more titles. They have been consistently in the top 2-4 teams for nearly the entire time when they started getting picks and they are always in the mix. That trade is now considered one of the worst of all time, FOR THE NETS.
