This is super sad, I'm a huge fan of both Wirtual and Riolu's content but the remarks and childish behavior on Riolu's side doesn't seem like a light at the end of the tunnel to me..

I'm not a competitive person. I've never been in all my life. I don't even care about being competitive at work, games, life or whatever, I just want to have a bit of fun and that's it. I'd feel so ashamed if I did something like that. Its not worth the trouble.

You should have read the complete text at 6:33 when Wirtual expands it and shows it in the video. If you read the whole thing with its context, it's not rude or pushy at all. It genuinely sounds like he is trying to help Riolu.

I actually did well in the oof road races in tm back in the day placing 1st on a lot of them.But cheating in a game should be perma ban.They should make an example that this will not be tolerated.All there records should be void.

from my experience most people, me included, who say "If I were caught cheating, I'd just come out and admit it" just wouldn't cheat in the first place. they have some real bad mentality to cheat in a competitive setting, that's why they try to deny no matter how much evidence there is against them.

I wonder if a category where cheats are allowed should exist. Like there are some games that have cheat% in their speedruns, where you can use cheats. Or make an "Anything goes" category where you can pretty much do anything, even using cheat softwares/tools.

I feel like this shows again that cheating always needs to be monitored, especially at the high level, big name speed-runners (where ig you expect it the least). It’s almost just like the Dream situation (Insanely big MC speed-runner caught manipulating RNG) all over again. Kudos to anyone willing to risk their reputation to combat this kind of high level cheating; that takes massive fucking balls. Of course, time should show what is really going on, so no bandwagons just yet.

It baffles me that Nadeo themselves did not run any analysis on inputs as an anti-cheat. I've been thinking long and hard about how cheating (for all games) can be solved in the future. In Trackmania, where the outcome is always deterministic and there's no other players to collide with, they had a fairly easy job at their hands. Actually just laughable how long they let this go on.

Cheating is only cool as long as there is no competitive element involved.

The worst part is that riolu is still a good player the fact that he had to cheat off-line to get records when he still is one of the best legit players once you cheat once it puts your whole reputation in the bin

The worst thing about this video is Riolu used shady means chopping up a PM to ruin the context of a message ... @ 6:05 mark of this video... Yet in Wirtual's video, he makes a point to show the entire message thus giving you a MUCH better understanding of the entirety of the message. The fact that KuruHS is posting this video where he shows the message Riolu showed during his live stream that was edited yet doesn't show the full message that Wirtual actually posted is kind of WTF?!?! KuruHS even comments on how "on a high horse" the comment is but again if you read the entire message by Wirtual the context totally changes and you realize how NOT "on a high horse" the message was. Bad editing on KuruHS.

I can give you my thoughts why Riolu has hard time to come out with public statements. Other people who also cheated here does not have such a big presence in the game, and most likely have other source of income. Riolu is heavily involved. He's pro player, has (now had) a contract with pro team and is full time streamer. For him to be found guilty, especially with some of the runs dating Dec 2020 this means that he's most likely to be dropped from pro scene of the game, his pro team already ended relationship with him (w/o his public statement, but as I understand they had private chats, but no-one is still saying if he takes responsibility and admits if he cheated) and presence as a streamer will plummet too. The last one maaaybe possible to build back up after some time. But the way he treated his last stream by twisting Wirtual statement, really had a hit on trust even more... So for him to admit is his whole life crashing down. For others it's like "yeah, it sucks, but I did it. Ok lunch brake is over, going back to work" And for the start of the video: TM2020 replays are saved differently and at the moment there is no script to extract the inputs with third party program. So if he done anything on that game is not certain. The only ones that could say is Nadeo, But as of now they only did damage control statement, and not really a big one. They said they're investigating, but still no statement on findings.

Riolu denying the allegations was a bad move, but I can't say I didnt expect it, since he had so much more to lose compared to the other players, but cussing wirtual out was a really bad move by him, he was probably really agitated but that was pretty dumb

Also imagine another MW Pepega mod patch is released where u have to beat riolu with speedbreaker constantly on 5Head

I think it will be hard for Riolu to admit cheating. He is currently a professional Trackmania player and some of the runs he is accused of cheating on were runs made at the request of Ubisoft. Admitting he is cheating could end his career as Ubisoft may ban him for cheating on their runs.

What are you talking about :) TM is his professional life, that's why he has difficulty admitting it. Also, when he started cheating, he was 15 yo, so likely not a fully formed personality and he just kept doing it... now he is a grown-ass man who doesn't have anything to show for half of his life, which is also his professional life. He is still young though, so he probably thinks about his parents', girl friend's etc opinion. Anyway, we do not need his admission.

The irony is that there are so many other ways to cheat that they haven't picked up on...some pre-scripted inputs you can even use while streaming. Probably almost everyone is cheating (with other methods). Useless to follow any TM competition from now on.

TAS isnt bad if you say it is TA. Looking at SM64 it even helps, finding strats, working on strats etc.

The thing that makes this worse is riolu is already one of the fastest players in the world. He's in the grand league, you can't cheat in that, it's online. So why would he even need to use something like this to get world records? I can understand some average player using it but a top tier player I don't understand.

Not gonna lie if i were cought cheating i would admit it yes i played hacked versions of games like asphalt nitro or the tank vs tank game both mobile asphalt nitro beacuse the level up cars mechanic was crap and i plyed this game in 2017-2018 where online multiplayer was remuved from game and events was there but in the APK version i couldnt play it honestly i wouldt played it just the infinite money and thats it it was fun driveing almost all car (there was 1 or 2 car(s) behind paywall)

Cheating is just stupid and never worth it its like a 85% chance of getting caught.

Trackmania is a perfect cheater game, no surprise here! There are players which are able to remove traffic somehow and claim fastest times in some other racing games. Therefore I don't hunt for speedruns or records in any game! Having fun is what's it all about ;-)

Everybody fucks up at some point thus I'd be willing to forgive the cheating part - of course if an apology is delivered. But considering his very insulting attempt of gaslighting and personally attacking people when he got caught and the fact that he just disappeared is so much harder to take in. If he was and still is overwhelmed by being caught - the guilt, shame and such - I'd encourage Riolu to consider the fair and kind community he's part of and to come out with the whole truth. Especially if you think about the work and supremely fair process that has been put in to uncover and confront him with his cheating. Riolu, it's all online. You don't have to stand before people or even before a camera. Just write a sincere apology and publish it where everyone can read it. Full disclosure, no bullshit and I'm pretty sure you'd even be welcomed back into the community at some point...
