This was one of my mother's favorite songs. She didn't sing much, but I remember hearing her hum along to "True Colors" whenever it was on the radio. Today marks two months since my mother passed away. Losing her so suddenly has left a huge emptiness in me, as well as darkness: guilt that I didn't call her up on the phone more, and that I couldn't fly out to visit her but twice since I moved 2000 miles away. I've been listening to VoicePlay's version pretty much on repeat since that day. The original is, of course, near and dear to my heart, but their version really yanks the meaning from the song and displays it, raw and real for the whole world. It's healing to listen to them. And of course, I've been rewatching reactors as well. You guys putting up that number at the end is really a wonderful thing. It can save a life! Between this and their cover of "I Love Me," VoicePlay really is great at spreading the idea of "just be true to yourself and love who you are."

Kaz & Sarah, I've been there as far as feeling alone. Thanks to you both for keeping it real. As much as I appreciate the music y'all are putting out here, I especially appreciate the fact that you show the fanbase that you care. Excellent reaction as usual!

I have just binge-watched the majority of your Voiceplay reactions (and a number of others), including staying up until 2:30am (when I'm usually in bed by 10pm!). I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed watching them. Your reactions are absolutely hysterical, and 95% of the time are exactly the same way I react to these songs!! This one was obviously a VERY different vibe, and it's still wonderful to see and hear your reactions. And your comments after the song about wanting to make sure no one feels alone are so meaningful. It would absolutely make my LIFE if you could react to Voctave's cover of You Will Be Found from the musical Dear Evan Hansen. It's my all-time favourite version of any song ever, and the lyrics and message behind it are life-changing. I CRY EVERY SINGLE TIME I LISTEN TO IT, and I have listened to it probably hundreds of times. It's an absolute masterclass in storytelling with music, and someday I want to make an analysis video (even though I don't have a channel or anything yet). I appreciate you both so much, and I wish I had the spoons to comment on every single one of your videos that I watch. (Not sure if you know of the Spoon Theory in regards to mental health/chronic pain/etc., but if not, I highly recommend looking it up!)
