willow smith just released a new song called transparent soul. decided to do one of those reaction type of videos. I like the song. It's not the best song of all time. I'd listen to another similar song. Is Travis Barker some kind of pop punk personal trainer the studio sends in to genre-bend up and coming musicians?

I feel like she’ll be seen and more appreciated in this genre, she needed to take it up a notch marketing wise and this did it. Her looks were phenomenal, everything was a whole vibe. This will definitely catapult her into mainstream. And think the problem with her precious work was we didn’t know were to place her. Not R&B, not pop, not rock. This is a definite statement of where she wants to be positioned in the music industry and it was a smart move. I think her vocals could go to a lot of places she actually has a dope sound and she can SANG. I don’t think the song is a “show your voice off” song but more like an “show your attitude off” song, although she can carry it and in my opinion you can tell she can sing. Long winded comment short, I love it!

Travis Barker is single handedly reviving pop-punk by converting rappers. lol

truly her having her father be Will Smith is kind of a disservice to her credibility because everyone likes an organic come up for artists (especially in this genre of music) but the talent is 100% there! this song is great! hope she manages to break free from being at her father's shadow.

Sure seven or six years ago she and her brother Jaden could still be seen as only the children of Will and Jada-Pink Smith but now it's been a few years since we are seeing them both showing very good art and in quite different directions as well. I'm personally a fan of WILLOW's kind of R'&'B albums but I can't wait for this new rock sound she'll come up with in her third album.

@@lejaydenmayo1505 I understand what OP means tho because she is over shadowed by both her brother in father in some ways. People for the longest automatically assumed her music sucked cause jaden did and then the whole “their just rich kids” thing that happened.

Epic review sir! I had no idea this was Willow when I first heard it on our local alternative radio station. I think she is finally finding herself and musical vibe.

Your whole analysis/review about the outfits, to production, to the sound was really good and fair which I don't think there's a lot of, I think people either come already looking down at something or looking up but maybe that's the normal thing to do. Eta: Can you react to Willow covering Bleed All Over Me with her mom's old rock band. I feel like Willow could do all types of sub genres of rock, especially if she cultivates her voice, would like to know your thoughts.

I disagree about Gwen. "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." is really fantastic. Her fall was only after Sweet Escape charted. And that was because she went on hiatus and fell into cozy Singing Game show land.

Well don't forget that rock music is created by black people and her mom was in a rock band. Is this the best song? It's fine, I like it. The fact is you don't see a lot of black people embracing their own genre because of colorism. I like the song though but she just need a lil more work with her voice BUT I love it.

it's a bit sad because there's such a rich history of black rock musicians even from the 1960s classic rock era onward, jimi hendrix obviously, lenny kravitz, living colour, bad brains, even currently fire from the gods is epically good. It's disappointing those guys don't get celebrated as much as they deserve

@@RyanNightTalks Dont forget about Funkadelic and FeFe Dobson!! Maggot brain is to die for😍 Also, I think theres so many of us secretly doing our thing with rock/blues but too afraid of possible judgment😬. Going against the grain isnt always easy. I think Willow is gonna start something amazing for this generation!

I thought I was the only one hearing J-Rock influence all over this! Can I suggest albums to review if you haven't heard? Try Yves Tumor's "Heaven to a Tortured Mind" and Bartees Strange's "Live Forever". They are two of the best executed "fusion" modern rock albums I suppose. Really something for literally everyone and neither lean too far without backing it up musically..
