Just tossing this into the mix: You have to think about Magneto carrying the PTSD of his experiences as a Jew in Nazi Germany. It's not about maturity or being an individual, it's because he has literally seen how bad it can get and will go darker sooner and deeper to stop humanity from going there again. It took Magneto many decades to balance out, a long time to learn to trust or hope or hold back.

I just want to add that the complex trauma and abuse Erik suffered in his childhood would actually mess up his brain enough to give his PTSD-affected behavior the appearance of immaturity. If that makes sense.

OMG. I am so sick of hearing about how great the Rogue Cut is. Its definitely not that great. John Campea perfectly said it when he said that Days of Future Past, the theatrical cut has no fat in it. Everything is perfect. The pace is perfect.... Until of course, you start overthinking everything. You can destroy any movie for yourself if you overthink things. Even Citizen Kane can be torn apart if you overthink and you start wanting things that were never meant to be there in the first place. Who needs the scenes between Beast and Mystique?? How do those scenes change anything in the movie? They are literally pointless to the plot and characters. That's what Campea meant when he said that there was no fat in the theatrical cut of this masterpiece. Even Mystique further destroying Cerebro was pointless. It was already f**ked up by Charles. They had already found her. They had already figured what shes doing and where shes going. Again, that is pointless fat. Its almost worse than filler. And we dont need to know how the Sentinels are capable of doing what they do. They dont even change Xaviers dialogue when he explains how Mystique is connected to the sentinels. They dont come right out and say, "We need to go back and save Rogue because then, the sentinels wouldnt be so powerful." Its Mystiques power of transformation that helps the sentinels adapt. That's the key. The movie does not suggest that Mystique is taking and using other mutants powers. Then I hate how they destroy two perfectly good scenes, namely the scene when Magneto goes to collect his helmet and when Bobby and Magneto go to save Rogue. They smashed these great scenes together, making them feel identical to each other... when they actually have nothing to do with each other.

That's not the reason at all. They negotiated the rights between them, bc Sony has the rights to x men. marvel was allowed to use the maximoff twins bc sony weren't gonna use Wanda. So Marvel could bring the maximoff twins but on the condition Quicksilver could only be lent for one movie, so Marvel killed him off and kept Wanda. Now there were always alternative timelines and realities in the comics, multiverses. Now that the multiverses are confirmed in the mcu, X men can be integrated it into the MCU. Marvel and Sony can cooperate now that they see how lucrative it is

Okay so I'm a dork, so I want to talk a little about the Quicksilver in this and why he's basically a god level mutant. In this version his powers aren't simply super speed. He's actually way more powerful than that, because he can literally control gravity and inertia. We see it more in the the next movie, but It's why he can throw people at super sonic speeds and it doesn't obliterate them, and why he can slow down and speed up while everything else continues to go the same pace around him. Controlling time isn't necessarily one of his powers, but he goes so fast that he is almost moving in sync with time, if that makes sense. And because he can control gravity within his bubble, he's able to manipulate the speed at which it moves around him. So he could technically just sit on the sofa and listen to music while everything else moves super slow around him. He can be going super speed, but then slow down or speed up within it at will. It's an interesting power set. That's WHY he's able to listen to music and it goes at his speed instead of the nanosecond it would have played otherwise. His music player is within his bubble and so is operating within his rules. I could talk more about this, because I think it's interesting.

I can never get enough of Mystic morphing while the other actor is imitating her. No one has failed the body language so far, bravo to all those doing those moments. The best thing about the movies, Wolverine can kill. In the show he's all hot-air and flung aside or stopped because he can't kill anyone. He only really shows his coolness and strength fighting Sentinels. And tearing up robots is lame, just a bit 🤏.

Ahh yes, at last! Has to be tied with First Class as my favourite in the series (granted, haven't watched anything past this movie), and all the mutants coming together is just amazing. Thanks for going through this series, it's been a blast, as always! On a side note - something that I will always comment on this movie, is that IMO, James McAvoy deserved an award or at least a nomination for his performance. Granted, due to how you chose to edit this video, some of his defining moments were skipped here (no shade about it, btw, gotta make those choices, thanks KZfaq), but the way he managed to play the haunted, broken version of Xavier, is nothing short of brilliant. The line in the plane, where Erik asks him if he gave up his powers so he could walk, and the response is - "I gave up my powers so I could sleep...". The delivery, with his voice cracking in the end, is one of the most gutwrenching moments I've ever seen on film. Period. The guy absolutely nailed this role, and he deserved more recognition for it.

At 11:00, the two people talking about the Cuban incident are the late Len Wein and Chris Claremont. Wein was responsible for reviving the X-Men (with Dave Cockrum) in 1975's "Giant-Size X-Men #1" after the title had been cancelled for five years. He co-created Storm, Colossus and Nightcrawler as part of the "All-New, All-Different" team which became a mainstay for decades Claremont took over writing X-Men's ongoing series not long after and continued writing the title for 17 years before leaving in the early 90s. Toward the end of the decade, he returned to X-Men and has written several follow-up stints and stories for the series. He wrote the 2-part 'Days of Future Past' issue that this movie was (loosely) based on, which was printed 4 years before The Terminator hit theaters.

The only thing I had a problem with in this movie was Mystique morphing into Boliver Trask. Her mutation can mimic her "actual size" to larger or bigger. Doing so she fills up the empty space inside her with air. She shouldn't morph any smaller than what her skeletal structure allows. Her morphing abilities acts as a healing factor by constantly morphing the effected area. She wasn't able to morph smaller until her second mutation in the mid 2000's where she could flatten herself paper-thin and combine mutant character traits instead of physically just looking like them.

The mutants we were introduced to in the future were all *really* cool (especially Sunspot & Blink) - I wonder if we'll see any of them in the MCU once they introduce mutants lol. A younger version of Blink also appears in the x-men based TV show *The Gifted* .

I remember thinking years ago way before news of Dr. Strange 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home ever came out, that I thought it would be so cool if Marvel Studios somehow could use this movie specifically to somehow bring X-Men into the MCU and specifically, the original -X-Men cast. Even though Fox made other X-Men movies after this one, those other movies technically would take place in the past with the new cast but before the new future our Logan returned to at the end of this movie. So, I wonder if somehow the MCU world and the end of this movie could somehow be integrated.

DoFP was also known as X4; following many years after the events of "The Last Stand. As well, the storyline is certainly primed for the big screen. This became the highest-grossing film in the franchise. It was great to have Bryan Singer back at the helm for this one and the sequel, 'Apocalypse'. But it was messed up that he was up to no good offscreen. The Rogue Cut is so good. I was very impressed with it.

Right on guys. The best X-Men movie, and it does a pretty good job adapting the comic book story line. of course, the best part is that it corrects all the errors made in earlier movies. And, Quicksilver. An amazing movie. Glad you're watching the Rogue cut. Also, so glad they never made any more X-Men movies after this, as that would just be stupid right?

Ok. This movie is really well portrayed on the animated series of course on one of the last seasons which made it totally cool to expanse the idea of the characters aging and meeting through time, cool concept. And Magneto looks super glorious on the animated series, posing like Vison from street fighter, crazy hair and muscles.

Most people have somekind of metal on them. Besides those iron rods from the concrete are metall. One of them pierces him from behind while he is still standing. From that moment on Magneto is able to do with him what ever he wants.

Without the Adamantium Wolverine heals EXTREMELY fast. In fact in the comics he heals so fast that one time when fighting Sabretooth, Victor actually tried cutting Logan's head off and his flesh was literally reforming and healing before Sabretooth's fingertip claws went through his neck. It was literally healing as fast as the wound was being inflicted. With the Adamantium skeleton and claws it slows his healing speed by about 75%. Still very fast compared to humans

To me, X-Men Days of Future Past (theatrical) is the greatest superhero movie ever created. Thats saying a lot. Ive seen so many. I love so many. But this movie is full of so many timeless and effective moments, i couldnt in good conscience say any different. Somehow in two hours, this one movie highlights and celebrates the powers of every superhero on screen better than any movie before or since. And there are so many characters. So many super powers on display. That by itself is not easy. But the movie also succeeds gloriously in juggling personal stakes and emotional stakes while telling a very complex story. Not only is DOFP one of the best superhero stories put to screen, it's one of the best sci-fi films about time travel. And how can you not love the way old Xavier opens the movie with the line "Is the future truly set" while his younger self closes the movie with "The future is never truly set"?? Its so beautifully poetic. How can you not love ANY scene involving Evan Peters as Quicksilver? Which is funny since everyone hated the way he looked in the marketing for the film. He is one of the greatest superheroes ever introduced in any franchise ever. In terms of pace and editing, i am so glad they cut out everything they did in the Rogue Cut. As John Campea perfect said in his review, there is not an ounce of fat in this movie. I wouldnt change any scene. I wouldnt change any line of dialogue. Nothing feels pointless or out of place. I dont want to add anything either. I dont want to ruin the breakneck speed of this movie. We dont need the subplot about Beast and Mystique. It serves nothing within the context of this movie. We dont need the scene where Mystique destroys Cerebro. It was already destroyed. They had already figured out where Mystique was going. We dont need the insinuation that Rogues power helped to create the Sentinels of the future. Its pretty clear that these Sentinels are using powers left and right. What matters most according to the screenplay is Mystiques power of transformation. The most important aspect of the Sentinels ability is in the DNA sequencing and re-sequencing which is on display throughput the whole movie, including the opening credit scene. Besides, the Sentinels of the future are nothing more than a framing device. They serve as a cataylst. We dont need to know anymore about them. I personally hate that they took two great scenes and basically smashed them together. The scenes of young Magneto when he goes to collect his helmet and Bobby when he goes to save Rogue with the old Magneto have absolutely no business being laced together. Finally, how can you not love the Sentinel X?? They are the most menacing and terrifying villains I've ever seen in a superhero movie. They are among the greatest robots ever put on film. As Roger Ebert once said, the greatness of a movie is a reflection of its villain. And this villain, these killer robots are phenomenal.
