Hey guys thanks so much for the reaction. It's Bee-Tu-Bee btw (born to beat: made for the beat) And specifically as a fan, I really want to thank Andy. This was a really big step for Sungjae. BTOB are kind of known as more ballad-jazz-RnB group actually haha, with much more slow, accoustic, traditional sounds than what you would expect kpop to sound like. This is probably one of the hyper songs they've done haha. We've haven't actually heard BTOB sing this much English before I think. They're known for their vocal skills, and self produce mostly in Korean and create what you would consider more 'classic' (the producer members are huge fans of legendary jazz, folk, ballad, RnB etc musicians like FRANK SINATRA, CHET BAKER, MICHAEL BUBLE, JOHN MAYER- the members are all over 30 so they like much more like the organic, traditional sounds). I reccomend their jazz song 'Blue Moon' if you're interested. They're genuine and heartfelt about music, love LPs, instruments and graduated pure music degrees. Some are also currently musical actors. They also rarely take songs from outside, much less foreign producers as they produce to their colour, hence I think this was a big challenge for Sungjae. Sungjae, being the youngest of the group, is known more for his looks to the domestic public, within the other older members who are all extremely musically talented. (Yes, he's very talented but the other members are that talented) In such an appearance focused industry, he has always expressed frustration in his skills being overshadowed by his public image. He debuted because he was passionate about singing. He worked rly hard the last 13 years singing diligently. However, he has said that people mostly focused on his looks. He said he very much wanted to prove himself this time, try something new and be recognised for what he loves. I think that's why he kept a lot of the lyrics despite it being so much in English, because it really resonated with him. We're honoured that such a huge challenge and big first step to his goal was produced by such a talented writer like yourself, and grateful that you were able to make a song which really resonated to him. We hope to see more of your work with BTOB in the future, or perhaps a work together? They're all VERY passionate and hands on with music, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. You will be able to experiment with some of the best vocals of the industry I kid you not. (we also have one American member 'Peniel' if you're ever interested in reaching out)

I immediately fell in love with this song from the first time Sungjae spoiled a little bit of it on a TV show, and I really liked it more and more when I heard the full version. The song is really good, beautiful, and amazing 💙 Thank you for the support you are giving to Sungjae. It really is suit for Sungjae 💙

This is the reaction that I never knew I needed! I was so surprised that The Ghost is 100% English like I listened to it and realized "wait, I understand the song right away". It's definitely refreshing to hear Sungjae sing in full English. I love his vocal so much and you should check out his group, BTOB because they're overwhelming with talent and each one of them have very unique vocal dynamic. Thank you, Andy for this song. I love both Be Somebody and The Ghost. Oh my God, no wonder The Ghost felt so familiar to me because it was inspired by English's band. Before I venture to kpop last year, I was an avid listener of band music like Saint Motel, Starset, The Score, Set It Off etc. So, The Ghost really bring back a lot of memories.

To answer your question, Sungjae is the maknae of the 12 year old, self composing and producing group, BTOB (bee to bee) that stands for BORN TO BEAT. They are known as the vocal/ballad/harmony kings and they are famous for their amazing live stages. All members can sing and rap and they are a heavily vocal group but their upbeat songs are all so good, too. Their music is so diverse, ranging from pop, dance, ballad, jazz, funk, rock, R&B..so hard to categorize that BTOB is a genre in itself. Sungjae is part of their vocal unit, BTOB BLUE..which consists of 4 members and these 4 are all so vocally gifted and have different vocal range and textures but together, they make the best sounding harmonies and they do it ordinarily, without any effort at all. I hope one of these days you could check out BTOB KILLING VOICE just to have an idea of how they are as a group and how Sungjae's amazing vocals play a big role in the over all sound of BTOB. They’ve produced most of their songs, all of their latest 2 albums. They all have solo works too. As you mentioned, it does sound very different individually from their group music. BTOB are known for their solid vocal-line, but also rap-line, stable live vocals and for their versatile but solid discography. It's pronounced B to B. It stands for Born to Beat. My goodness, both of these songs are excellent. So glad our Sungjae did these. I've been streaming them non stop. So proud of him.

I loved the song the 1st time I heard it and I loved what Sungjae brought to it. Rokman and Andy, thank you for helping our youngest Beat realize his dream of being known as more than just a pretty face. I've been watching his content that began when he was age 16 and I couldn't be more proud of him. Rokman, I hope you'll react to BTOB's Dingo Killing Voice because you will not only be more amazed by Sungjae's vocal power and range, but you'll be floored by the vocal talent of his big brothers in the vocal line. An insane vocal range and effortless flip into falsetto are the earmarks of BTOB's entire vocal line (which includes their main rapper, who often subs when Sungjae's schedule keeps him away from concerts/appearances). Since their debut in 2012, everyone in the group has matured as a master performer. They write and produce most of their own music, but they also enjoy stretching themselves to try new things.
