I'm getting the impression that the staging & styling for 'Doomsday Blue' are still a work in progress. Also, Bambie Thug may well have had to compromise with the Late Late Show producers on this occasion (who tend to have notoriously bad ideas - like making Isabella Kearney hop up and down mid-song for no discernible reason). All Bambie needs now is the financial backing, and maybe a few Tarot consultations with Dita.

I like the theme of this manic pixie delighting in the end times, almost like they're presenting doomsday as a vaudeville play. But on the main stage it needs fire, it needs a visual gimmick (maybe something like loads of tv stacked on top of each other that show a distorted Barbie in flames ala Inglorious Bastards.) Its bare bones are creative as fuck though so i'm excited for them.

I hope whoever was in charge of the sound engineering is in a HR performance review on Monday.

Yes , our 🇮🇪 national selection was a step up from the last few years ( FINALLY !!!🙄🙄) . It made a big difference NOT wheeling out the same old eurovision Dinosaurs that are clueless as to what eurovision is now . 6 songs is defnitely not enough th select from . TOTALLY should be at least 8 . Lastly and VERY obviously the Late Late show is a COMPLETELY inappropriate platform for our eurovision entry . The audience demographic is not age appropriate . FACT !! The last time we won Eurovision we selected our entry in the point arena . Bambi Thug deserved to win . Very best of luck Bambi 😀👍. Still in shock that the boy band came second 🙄🙄

I'd personally prefer Go Tobann, and I am happy that the national jury put it as their 2nd option, but I can totally understand it being a harder sell. Bambie can much more easily appeal to Billie Eilish-adjacent fans, and it should give Ireland what they need the most, which is qualification. In my opinion this is a great starting point, its certainly memorable which is A-MA-ZING for Ireland, but there needs to be some modifications for it to work. Firstly the choreo and the dress as you said before. And on that last bit, it's kind of a massive release of tension so the staging needs to go all out. You know when sometimes we describe some acts staging as "too much"? Well forget that phrase even exists. We need pyros, smoke, camera shake, lights, EVERYTHING. We need that last section to be BURNED into peoples memories. That and possibly a revamp to make it a bit more should work in Ireland's favour

I think Bambie came with quite a comprehensive package compared to most last night. Its important to note, they dont have a label behind them so everything was pretty much DIY. As an Irish Eurovision fan I'm quite confident as i feel that they have an artistic direction for the song and hopefully RTE will give them additional resources and money needed to translate it to the big stage. Ive never felt this positive about an Irish act in years, probably since Jedward. I think it was clever of them to go disneyesque/ tim burtonesque for the late late show, as its more accessible to the irish grannies at home watching. Brooke cutsied it up too for that very reason and brought the sass to Eurovision . All in all im very excited for malmo

Bambi is fantastic, and I love their vision and uniqueness, but this song feels like the longest three minutes lol 😂 the pacing between metal and softness makes it feel like I’m listening to different songs. It definitely deserves to make the final though. Loved the video ❤ I recommend listening to their song titled Tsunami (11:11)!

Don’t ever take national final stagings and stylings too seriously. It’s supposed to be cheaper by default. If Bambie Thug sold it enough that the Irish people are willing to make it their representative, then the delegation can invest more time and money in making it the best presentation it could be in Malmo.

I really hope for the upgrading for Malmo they go more of the direction of the dancer's costumes than Bambi's costume. Leaning too much on literal witch is too boring. I think something more contemporary horror fashion needs to happen. The dancers costumes done in a latex or leather rather than the spandexy material would be dope. I genuinely think this has SO much potential, RTE are so shite with how they show these for eurosong. But the fact that I can even talk like this about my country's entry FINALLLLLY is amazing. So glad the Irish public and jury are behind this act. 🇮🇪

First of all let me say I love this song and the performance and the vocals are awesome!! Because it was mentioned here in the beginning: how am I supposed to know with listening to a song or seeing a performance, that someone identifies as they/them? It's a genuine question. I think, Norway will get all the witchy points. Personally, I like both entries, they really stand out, and I am glad we get this kind of music on the ESC stage. And if Ukraine will not get all the sympathy and political vote once more, I really think Norway will win the contest, or at least it will finish top3

For Eurovision-philes (what’s the word? Ireland holds the track record of the most wins along side Sweden as well as the most wins with the same artist - Ireland Johnny Logan and Sweden Loreen… however Johnny Logan beats Loreen as Johnny wrote a winning song for Ireland too sung by Linda Martin. Ireland won in 1992, 1993, 1994, and again in 1996!!!!! We also produced Riverdance as our interval act in 1994 - no country has managed an interval act like Riverdance.

Having watched multiple videos of Bambie performing live since this, I'm of the opinion that RTÉ's horrible guardianship of this process is what is hindering our chances the most. Like yous were rightly super harsh on this, it doesn't sound good, the staging is rushed and it's true of all the performers that night. The result of that lack of care is the video you are reacting to. Which is what the MAJORITY of reactions have been based on. I'm just so mad that they allowed this to be what is shown as our viral video as it were. When we all know having seen them at the pre parties and from their music video that Bambie is an exceptionally talented performer.
