I think you failed to understand that she's not justifying her father. She's talking about understanding the cycle of violence, that her father also comes from a place of violence and she has to end with it, accept the past and get rid of the hate to be able to move on and be happy.

She's not saying that she misses him. The title literally translates to "It's not that I miss you." She's not justifying what he did but saying that as she grows older she's realized that hurt people, hurt people. She's choosing to forgive, not for his sake, but rather to better herself and make sure to end the cycle of violence.
