Pau does indeed have a way of conveying emotion when she sings, in a way that can really reach and grab you in the feels. I also have always loved their home slightly out of tune piano. I think in this case it adds to the melancholy of the song. I hope they never fix that thing. At their concert in Mexico City this past October, the sound board was playing a nice playlist for all the fans in the audience before the opening band started playing. Radiohead's original version of Creep came over the PA and a huge portion of the audience stopped their conversations and started singing along. When the song ended, there was a little cheer, then everyone got back to chatting and waiting for the show. It was a lovely little spontaneous moment for a song that clearly now has a connection with The Warning Army thru this version by Pau.

Paulina intuitively connects with her music and is able to convey feelings with her voice. If you get to know the sisters of The Warning (there are plenty of behind-the-scenes and after-show videos on their channel, plus some fantastic interviews and mini-documentaries) you'll quickly see that Pau is an all-or-nothing person. She is always extremely intelligent, conversational, and empathetic. She isn't afraid to make mistakes and poke fun at herself (as a video of her baking a cake clearly shows). She gives 100% all the time. But best of all, what you were touching on with your reaction, is that she's authentic. She took on this song, truly connected with the meaning, and conveyed it with her piano playing and vocals. All 3 sisters are very genuine. There's nothing fake and that really helps to draw people in.

YOU GOT IT. Pau deliberately chose to do this this way, on an out-of-tune piano, iPhone, black-and-white, no serious audio processing, etc., so that the lyrics stand out. After all, she is a sensitive, thought-provoking lyricist herself, who understands EXACTLY what this song means. You're right - It's a show-off-the-voice piece for many. This one actually hits hard. HARD. It should come with a trigger warning. THAT's the talent she has - making you hear the lyrics and feel the meaning in them. *Black Holes* and *Show Me the Light,* played live at Dakota Bar in 2018, are two great original examples of Pau's work. Both are done on piano, with backing vocal harmonies, bass, and guitar work by Ale and Dany. Then there are *23* and *Revenant,* from the 08/29/2022 Teatro Metropolitan concert. *The End (Stars Never Seem to Fade)* from the Live at Lunario, 2018, concert video is raw and amazing. FUN FACT: Pau has won several Big Deal drumming awards lately, along with a Decididas Global Award for setting an example for young artists with big dreams (among other things). I love this cover. I'm not someone, unbelievably, that really knows the original very well. For some odd reason I've listened to this probably 30 times but never gone back to compare to Radiohead's version, which i haven't heard for decades. I'll probably do that now. In any case Pau knows how to tap into emotion. There is a midnight concert she did during the pandemic, just playing three of their songs on this same piano in the near darkness. it's very moving. Maybe it helps if you are already familiar with the songs as they appear on their Queen of the Murder Scene album. I'm sure you'll work your way through all their material eventually. There just isn't any mediocre material, it's all great.

The guitarist of Radiohead hated this song at first, and tried to sabotage it with those random guitar crunchies towards the end of the verse. This ended up adding a feel to the song and helped it become even more powerful. He liked the song later...

IIRC, Pau popped up one day on Instagram (i think) and posted the titles of a couple of songs and asked which one she should do for a challenge... *Creep* was selected... she went off and like four hours later, she gave us this beautiful treasure 😻 there is a channel that listed numerous Creep covers and asked for voting on the best... Pau won, hands down... a week or so later, that channel put the original Creep up against Pau's and she won that poll, as well! that's our Pau! in the same way we thank Metallica for writing Enter Sandman "for" DPA/TW, we also thank Radiohead for writing Creep "for" Pau 😜😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Pau is a marvelous singer, Dany is a marvelous singer, and Ale is a marvelous singer, but she doesn't like to sing. I hope one day that changes and Ale blows us all away singing lead on one of their songs. All three are masters of their instruments, all three play piano, Pau is the main lyricist, but all three work out the parts of the songs together, and all three have written complete songs by themselves. Their energy and stage presence are tremendous, and their personal appeal is remarkable. How is it possible that The Warning is not already recognized as one of the best bands on the planet? (That's a rhetorical question, I already know the answer).

You hit the nail on the head. Pau makes this so real. She wraps me up in the whole gamut of emotions this song evokes - sadness, hopefulness, desperation, resignation. And there's something even lonelier and more isolated about just a performer and a piano, especially when the performer can draw you in the way Pau can. This is the only performance of this song that I believe "has it all," including Radiohead's original.

It’s a great performance by any standard especially with only a few hours of learning it. This is Paulina, she’s just so good at emotional songs, with her she feels it as well as performing it. There’s a live performance from the Pepsi center of a song called Breathe; she said that she was never going to perform it live but she did, what a heart rending performance! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the whole audience! It's a song that, at least in my interpretation, deals with imposter syndrome. So... if by any chance it's sung by a narcissist it will probably seem fake, which might explain the issues you may have had with some people who may have covered it. You will never find a narcissist singing about imposter syndrome in a heartfelt way, they always feel superior hehe, and of course there are a lot of narcissists in the public eye, in the arts, because they crave the attention and validation. Paulina is just emoting sincerely, she is one of those rare breeds of artists that really show us their heart while singing. Diana Ankudinova is this way also, as well as some others. They are not just performing a song, they are living it. And that is what makes a piece of art great, it's that subtle breaking of the voice that emotions do.
