Lol he's just taking it in though. Sometimes that's what you feel. I can relate, I'm not a hunter and any time I've gone fishing I need someone to take my fish off the hook for me because I'm a little girly man. But sometimes I sit here like, ".... I wanna go fishin'" HAving just said what I said, so if I was ever by myself I'd be out there scared to touch the fish because I'm the "scared of fish" guy, but sometimes that's just what feels right, Lol.

Great reaction! Some history: Hank is part of Country Royalty. His father Hank wrote many many songs that are still covered regularly today. Sadly, he died in 1953 at age 29 of drug and alcohol abuse. Hank Jr. was born in 1949, now age 72, and started his music career in 1964 at age 14. He has an extensive catalog as well as playing with other artists, many as diverse as Ray Charles, Kid Rock, and Lynrd Skynyrd.

I wish I had that. Lol I'm from Southern Minnesota, so I know all about Deer Season. But I've never gone Deer hunting. I've gone pheasant hunting and came home with a bird, but I hear the deer stories and I'm like, "... but why though?" Because I've had Venison, I've had it in sticks, soup, steaks, and everytime I've had it I was like, ".....you know beef is better right?" Lol it sounds like a joke but it's legit like that. I think my boys like the hunt more than they care for the meat. Which I can understand, but if the meat is kinda shitty, it's just like: Why? You know?

I’m so glad I was born in the south. My daddy taught me to fish, hunt deer, rabbit, squirrel and clean em and cook em up. I can plant and grow a garden and can take care of my family by any means necessary. I can live in the wilderness just as easy as I can live in my home. There’s well over 100 acres out my back door that I can find everything I need to live for quite a while including clean drinking water. But I can even take nasty water and treat it for drinking. I have no idea what would happen to city folks should the crap ever get real and we all are left to our own to survive. But as HWJr says...a country boy can survive!

Born and raised along the Arkansas River, did the military thing, retired and now family and i live at the top of the state in the Ozarks. Driveway is dirt and 1/4 mile long. Trying to teach my teen kids how to live off the land like my family did (hunt'n, fish'n, vegetable garden, etc...) last summer my son picked a bunch of wild blackberries off the property and him and my wife made homemade jam.👍can be hard work and sweat of a simple life. Forget "keeping up with the Jones's" they'll starve to death driving from grocery store to grocery store looking for food in their Cadillac when the shelves go empty. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh it's indeed true. The year was 1975. He was on Ajax Peak with a rancher, from the Montana side. Looking for some goats.Hank Jr. slipped on some snow, on the side of the mountain, and fell 500 feet. His head impacted on several rocks jutting out from the snow field, and then he landed face first on a boulder. The front of Hank Jr.’s head was split and fractured from his chin to his hairline. Hank eventually lost all of his teeth, his gums were virtually gone, his right eye was hanging out of its socket, and parts of his brain were exposed through his skull. Took two years and numerous surgeries... * beard, long hair, and glasses forever more And, "A Country Boy Can Survive". How do I know this? Because, "I'm A Dinosaur".

I'm a little similar and a bit different too. I grew up on a beef ranch and wheat farm in Kansas. I'd always ride along with my dad and uncles when I was little, and when I was 12 I started working for a paycheck with them. Dad want me and my cousin to have the capability to experience more as we grew up. Got paid hourly, and worked for hours on end. My had a job with a bank and helped me set up CDs for later when I would go to college. Then I managed a few scholarships and paid my debts about a year after I graduated from college. And after that, I got the luck to work overseas on excavations of ruins and the chance to explore more. But I still come home to work with family and help where I can.

My parents never really struggled with money as I grew up. But we were sure frugal. I got a job at 14 and saved every dime. My family never worried about money but I sure as hell respect the value of a dollar, just how they raised me.

If you liked those two songs, you REALLY need to listen to: "OD'ed in Denver" And "Living Proof" Two amazing songs by Jr. Also, check out some Hank III. Looks and sounds like his grandpa, but with a real punk edge to his country. His album "Straight to He" was the first Country album to get a parental advisory warning :D
