This is a reaction video of Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa covering the great Deep Purple song "Lazy". This is a real HOT cover with incredible keyboards (who is this keyboard player). The drumming outpaces Ian Paice on the original (who is this drummer). And the guitar playing lights up the fret board by Joe and Brad Whitford (of Aerosmith fame). The bass playing moves along with the drumming. And the vocals by Jimmy ... WOW ... totally out of sight! Enjoy ...

The opening organ solo reminds me of the Garth Hudson organ solo that grew in concerts to become "The Genetic Method" leading into the start of "Chest Fever" by The Band.

I was a huge purple fan back in the 70’s. Love Ian Gillans vocals. This is. Fine band. Who I feel def do this song justice, different of course but still good.

I heard an interesting piece of info while watching two other dudes reacting to this cover of Deep Purples Lazy. The name Deep Purple apparently comes from the marijuana scene back in the day. When the police pulled someone over, then checked their stash, if the test liquid turned a deep purple color, it was some good weed, apparently 😂😅

The drummer is Anton Fig, who is a drum god in the industry, and is better known as David Letterman's Drummer. The keyboardist is Arlen Schierbaum, both are from Joes band at that time.

Good cover, no doubt about it, but clearly nowhere near the original + I don't like Joe's tone here, much too agressive compared to Blackmore's subtle touch.

When did it become a competition? I know Ian has respect for Jimmies singing abilities and feels honored for their tribute cover to a great band . It has nothing to about being better, far from it but respect to the great band Deep Purple. Nothing more, nothing less.
