Oh my gosh your observation and your opinion about her performance is on point....it's like she's talking to the person she love and we as a viewer are transported to the world she created and see the conversation and desperation she feels while talking to her lover. (When I first saw this video I can feel her emotion and it makes me feel that I want to cry.. oh gosh my chest feels heavy that time but I was so impressed and proud of her performance .

This is the performance that I believe KZ sings the highest notes I’ve ever heard her sing. Check out her back story about her vocal surgery, I think she was told she would not be able to sing after. But she learned to sing at lower registers and she is so awesome

FYI the original composer of this song actually admits upon seeing her performance - they couldn't imagine that their song can be sang in that manner "Wow" was actually the word they said hehehe it was magical and emotional to say the least hehehe what a journey :)

You should watch KZ sing The Hurts You Never Knew also on Singer 2018. Although she sang this in Mandarin, you will still feel the emotions even if you do not understand a single word. Truly an amazing singer.

Have you check ROYAL....her singing the theme song of the movie "CARS" both in the Singer2018. N then she has her concert singing the theme song to her parents wedding anniversary, from the Carpenter song, CLOSE TO YOU, which was stated "the hidden talent" from KZ.

She supposedly only had about 24 hours to prepare for this song. She had another prepped but was told (by the show producers?) that she couldn't use that and had to change it. Worked out for the best, I think

At Singer 2018, "Royals" and "Rolling in the Deep" were her stand out performances but if you are after emotions try "The Hurts You Never Knew" with english subtitle! I love the honesty and sincerity of your reactions though! Keep it up! :-)

Happy Birthday! She also puts her own stamp on Lorde's "Royals" on the same show. Even more emotional than this also on Singer 2018, is "The Hurts You Never Knew- with English translation", which is sung in Mandarin. For something with a jazzier flavour, try "Feelin' Good", which is a duet with Jaya. To see her relationship with Jessie J, see short the Y.Tube video of their meeting. ( I gave you the link to that video before, but it is now "unavailable", but there is a shorter, poorer quality version (2:25) called "KZ Tandingan Meets Jessie J" left. It is also included in the longer (16:31) video of the highlights of both of their performances on that episode, (Episode 5- where "Rolling In The Deep" beat Jessie J ). It's really heartwarming, and KZ also talks about her vocal chord surgery. I typed this before I got to the end- so I guess you've seen the clip I'm talking about. Now check out the ones with her and Hua backstage. About this song- others have commented that this was a last minute replacement for a song they couldn't get the rights to, so that's why it was a guitar only accompaniment song. Also, she was congratulated by the original artists.

I so agree with your perception. Like you, I am in love with these singers, not only for their voices and genius and talent, but also because they are beautiful human beings. I am specifically thinking of Dimash, Hua Hua and KZ. I am sure someone already has suggested to check out So Hyang, a Korean gospel singers. She is amazing and is also a beautiful person.She is a cancer survivor and seems to have a deep spiritual experience. The audition is definitely worth watching at some point. That might be the only time someone auditioning on one of the talent shows was asked for an encore. Also, you talk about KZ being beautiful, but back then, I don't think she believed that. She talked in her audition about how singing was not just for the beautiful and fair skinned.
