The stem cell transplant saved his life. By the time he received his real diagnosis, it had gone untreated for so long that he had organ damage as well as brain damage, which he is still receiving treatment for in Canada 🇨🇦

He writes his own stuff, can play many instruments, doesn't need "industry standards".. so makes his own music. If your soul is behind your own stuff and nobody else is telling you what are supposed to do or not do... you hear it. No comparison with radio pap for the masses. I hope he lives forever ❤

The original video has all the information about autoimmunity and the Millions of people MISSING due to the chronic issues that Ren has suffered for 14 years He has recovered to nearly normal life now because of the expensive treatment he can afford to get in Calgary He promised to fight on behalf of those still struggling and this song is part of that. Thank you for the great reaction

Afaik, he still has to deal with chronic pain, neurological issues & a very restricted diet due to MCAS &, while he's greatly improved, he'll have to deal with them for the rest of his life to some degree or another. I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time!

Antibiotics " very aggressive " for Lyme diseases. But the damage the Lyme did to his body with the autoimmunity and M.E is where the stem cells have helped regenerate some of what was destroyed . All is very experimental and new treatments last I heard from his blogs and such is treatments end in Calgary this month. Then he is moving to US somewhere to continue them just not so aggressive ( I think ? ) I hope he recovers 100% but his chances are slim ! He puts 90% of his time into his medical now. And still does this ! I think he is a AMAZING human being ! And think we are just at the beginning of hearing more of REN !! Nice reaction guys !!

Great reaction 👍❤. You should do the other version of Troubles as well. It's a totally different Song.🎵🎶 To learn more about his story watch the 'chapters' on his RenMakesStuff channel. It is an autobiographical reading: From the end of his friend Joe over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Very personal and emotional videos. Even if you thought you understood Ren's songs beforehand, you understand them even better afterwards and they become even more intense.

Seriously enjoy your guys enthusiasm for Ren. This dude is a force of nature and there is for sure, a lot more coming our way from this guy. I legit can't wait for his next album which I *think* he said is coming in July or maybe it got delayed a little (more). Not sure where he stands on this now. Some wicked collabs are supposed to be coming our way as well...

The Calgary tower reminds me of the Eye of Mordor. Ren is Frodo, heading towards Mount Doom to destroy the ring, while the great Eye of Mordor searches out for him. That aside, at the very end, the circumfrance of the tower lights up green! There is happiness at the end.

Ren had a contract with Sony and was working on his 1st album when he got sick. It's interesting to think where he'd be. Would the industry have mainstreamed him, would he have succumbed to the darker side of the industry, he had already had issues with drugs so it's not out of the realm. Instead, blessing or curse, he is now almost immune to the industry because whether he signs with a company or not, I don't think anyone could make him compromise his music for money or fame. Not to say he doesn't want either, but they aren't what drives him.

As others have said, Kai Lacey (bass player) is the videographer here. You really need to see the music video version. It’s a wonderful song, but Ren can accomplish that with any subject.

Yes this was shot in Alberta, Canada. I know that one of his videos took 147 takes, Until they got the right one. The ting I always like is that they are all done with friends and low budget. And they always have little gems in them. Like stopping the globe in Money 3 right on South America, after talking about drug deals. Or here stopping at the Calgary Needle

I think he might be an alien - no human being should be that talented, across multiple musical instruments, genres, production, direction etc. He's just so talented in every creative field & if he wasn't such a genuinely nice guy it'd be very easy to hate him, lol. The word genius is thrown around far too often & easily but in Ren's case I think it's absolutely appropriate.

Stem cell transplants were back in 2016-17. Without them, i think he would be struggling more for sure. But he says that they made some symptoms worse, like his MCAS allergic to foods situation. He is now dealing with all the damage caused neurologically by Lyme. Kai, the cameraman here usually does his bts fir Patrein. He did great here !
