In the second half of the song, where all those different instruments were coming in and doing solos, those solos are actually the main themes for all 4 of the main characters. It's really awesome hearing them pop off in the final boss theme when you're fighting for your life

When the instruments are all over the place, and they start rotating, it's because at that moment they started using motifs from every character. Also, I believe you would like "Azure Arbitrator" from "Ao no Kiseki". It's one of my favorite JRPG Final boss theme. Keeping in the realm of games, tbh... All Falcom music has a metal-ly feel And when it comes to non videogame/anime music. "Wagakki band" live performance of "Homura" + "Akatsuki no ito" is amazing

If you want something else like this, I recommend One Who Gets in Your Way, from Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. The definitive edition specifically, as that version is live.

It's fun to watch people discover masterpieces that came to life more than 10 years ago and that's a great idea to tell everyone their very existence. People should try to listen to FULL original soundtracks from video games because they may be very surprised... and even flabbergasted. ^^ Suggestions: - Bravely Default of course - Xenoblade series - Ys and The Legend of Heroes Series (from Nihon Falcom) - so many titles everywhere they can't be listed Please keep in mind that these tracks are related to specific universes, stories, characters or events that make them more valuable if you're aware of the links betwen each of them. For example, there are four heroes in Bravely Default and their personal leitmotivs are quoted in the final boss battle theme you're currently listening to: - the tin flute is Tiz Arrior - the violin is Agnes Oblige - the sax is Edea Lee - the accordion is Ringabel whose theme is played by Revo, who is the actual composer of this OST and the leader of the band you're listening to. Putting these themes into the very end of the music of the final battle is a goodbye to those heroes. I guess your experience may be different if you know that. ^^ Don't wait for people to "react" to specific songs or musics because it takes a lot of time to perform those videos on that stuff and therefore choices are to be made; you have to discover and enjoy all these gems by yourself. Video game music is a huge land of wonders...

You've gotta try "Mechanical Rhythm" from Xenoblade. If you like riffs, this song is ALL riffs. It's so guitar centric, it could be in the Doom Soundtrack.

Man, I would’ve killed to play something like this when I was in an Orchestra. So much of classical music is counting 150+ measures and then playing one note lol Also be careful if you ever start watching Attack on Titan - it’s pretty dark/ depressing, at least at the beginning. I haven’t made it through all of season 1 yet but it definitely requires me being in the mood for that kind of thing.

If you guys want more metal, take a look at Bravely Seconds' ost. A personal favorite is Battle of Anne.

This sounds obvious but the live and regular ost versions do sound a lot different. Some of the guitar in the live version is drowned out besides from the solos. Don’t get me wrong the live version is still very entertaining and extremely fun to see the energy but I like the studio version a little better because the guitar is more relevant. If that helps at all.
