Disney dropped the ball, could have made one of the go to rides. Boring. This is Disney version of Knotts Berry Tails. Coming from a Big Princess and the Frog fan. Was disappointed in what I've seen

Agreed. It definitely isn’t close to splash. If you remove the idea of its origins from Song of the South, it was a great park attraction that transcends IP, so it generally could have had continuous longevity. That is the downfall of any IP.
