Things that came up as I watched: - Unlike other groups' survival shows, SKZ's was not for the company to choose group members, but rather to test the group's readiness to debut as nine. They started out already formed as the nine members (leader Chan + the eight other trainees he selected) and then fought to stay together. - The leader picking the team isn't just uncommon -- it's unheard of. SKZ's formation is unique within the industry. 19-year-old Chan handpicked one of the leading 4th-gen groups himself -- and then he and two of the others made their discography. SKZ have unprecedented creative freedom. - The SKZ nickname/abbreviation is just said like "Skiz"; you don't have to say each individual letter. (It's an acronym rather than initialism.) - As happens with guides, this one is now outdated in parts. The album count is now higher, and as of tomorrow's new release will be even higher. - Nearly every guide misinforms about this, so to clarify: other than leader, there are no official set positions in SKZ anymore. Though we and they still use terms like "main dancer" or "sub-rapper" as shorthand, these things do not actually exist, no matter what a guide says in the members' info (better than most, this guide does technically say "roles," but it doesn't really clarify that this isn't just being used in place of "positions" or that things are no longer set). All eight members are singers, dancers, rappers, and visuals, and they move around in songs to suit what they want and what each piece needs. - That said, Lee Know is their unofficial official dance leader (not lead dancer). Part of the reason Chan chose him is so he could be in charge of the team's dancing, and Lee Know can still frequently be seen monitoring the group's dances and working with individual members. Like Chan, he tends to take a backseat and let the others shine, not out of lack of talent or skill, but because of his leadership role and his focus on the team as a whole. - Hyunjin "looks tall." This is the source of MANY in-fandom (and in-SKZ) jokes. SKZ are collectively the shortest boy group. Chan calls them "fun-size." Hyunjin is the tallest, at 179cm. (When someone inevitably and earnestly tells you "No, he's six foot now!"...he's not. That was a joke that a few people misunderstood and have recently started spreading around the fandom as gospel, so of course it's taken off, as that stuff tends to do. The man is 21 years old and hasn't grown an inch and half in quite some time [also, we regularly see him next to other idols whose heights are known].) He's not short, but he mostly looks notably tall because of his body type and the fact that he's usually surrounded by short people. Anyway, Jinnie is the tallest and makes sure everyone knows; Binnie is the shortest, at 167cm. - SKZOO = "skizoo" (short "i" sound, same as in the SKZ acronym) - I recommend every single song. SKZ don't make skippable music, and their discography is absurdly varied and so, so much more than the hard-hitting songs used for most of their title tracks (which I also love, of course, but I wish more people would delve deeper). Factoring in the alternative language versions and the independent releases on SKZ-Record and SKZ-Player, they already have over 130 songs -- and four more are releasing in about 10.5 hours from now (on Nov 29 at 6pm KST). So there's a LOT of music to discover, and some of their greatest work is in the unpromoted b-sides. - Thank you for taking a look at SKZ. I hope you decide to stick around and dive in!

yassss. there is a big strayteez crossover in kpop (Staytiny is real and we love each other) Im so glad you're checking them out :) This guide was really good too. for your own personal enjoyment, i recommend watching Mayfly perform "Love Poem." it's SKZ (skeez) Seungmin, Ateez Jongho, and BTOB Eunkwang... and it's regarded by many artists and reactors as one of the most legendary performances in kpop. I get chills every single time I watch it

OMG I literally screamed when I got the notif that you're doing Stray Kids! I freaking love Stray Kids, and their music is so cool. I don't know as much about them as I know Ateez, but I'd definitely consider myself a Staytiny. Han Jisung is my bias and Seungmin is my wrecker. I saw others had mentioned Love Poem from Mayfly in other comments (Mayfly is a unit created between Ateez' Jongho 🥰, Stray Kids' Seungmin, and BtoB's Eunkwang on the reality survival show Kingdom: Legendary War where Ateez, Stray Kids, BtoB, SF9, The Boyz, and iKON competed to be crowned the "king of kpop." Its such a cool show and I would totally recommend checking it out). Anyway, Mayfly's Love Poem was the reason that Seungmin became my wrecker. There's just something about those power vocalists I guess lol.

Hi, I wanted to say I really liked your energy through this reaction! I watched this as I was getting ready for bed last night and your vibes were really calming, haha. I have troubles with sleep so thank you for helping me wind down!! I'm really happy to see more people getting into Stray Kids! One thing about them is that Stray Kids writes much of their music to be about very real and relatable things, so whenever reacting to their music it's worth making sure you read the lyrics. They just released a special Christmas single album titled Christmas EveL as a gift for fans, with double title tracks- Christmas EveL and Winter Falls respectively. Both have music videos out now so those would be worth checking out, as they show two completely different sides of the kids. The other two tracks are 24 to 25 (My personal favorite), and an English version of a song off their last album, Domino. 24 to 25 has what's called an "Unveil Track" which is essentially a long teaser video for the song with good video production. It's super cute if you wanna see it, but it's not the full song and I don't believe it'll be getting a full music video. :) Otherwise, I'd generally recommend going through their music videos in order from oldest to newest, though you've heard some of the most recent. I'll see if I can find a list in order later to add in this comment! My personal favorite tracks with music videos are District 9 (Their debut), On Track, EX, Red Lights (Duet by Chan and Hyunjin), and Levanter. Their music videos are split between the JYP Entertainment channel and their own Stray Kids channel. They've appeared on a Japanese channel called THE FIRST TAKE three times, to perform SLUMP (The ending song they made for an anime called Tower of God), Mixtape : OH, and Scars. Essentially, they're given one take to sing their song and the video goes up no matter the results. It's a great showcase of their talent and I'm suuuuper fond of the videos, so I'd definitely recommend those. As for other content, compilation videos are popular but personally I think watching SKZ CODE, a reality show on their official KZfaq channel is really fun. There's ten episodes and counting, as they're in the middle of a new season! This is getting a bit long, so!! I hope you enjoy getting to know more about Stray Kids and find music that you love. 💞

Oooo you should listen to their new Christmas mini album! It really showcases their duality with 3 completely different styles and one English version of their song DOMINO from the noeasy album. I also highly recommend watching the video for their pre debut song Hellevator, it’s such a good song (also they look like babies 🥺). Also if you want to learn more about their personalities there are a lot of KZfaq videos on each of them and a few more guides that show off their personalities more. (My favorite to show ppl is “The duality of lee Felix’s voice”… just bc I was mind blown the first time I watched it)

Also some kind of little background information Han has anxiety issues/ social anxiety and can sometimes not attend fan meeting because of it. Felix is unofficial bisexual?? It was not confirmed but when he was asked what his type was he asked "for boys or girls?" And also said his boy type is changbin bc he is dark muscular and mysterious. I‘m kinda sad that there wasn‘t an explanation of the former 9th member but the former member is woojin and he is now a soloist He left the group due personal issues which quick turned into alligations he was kicked out, after that a SA scandal ruined his image and people started to hate him bc of fake news (it was confirmed that the SA alligations are false and all made up) people still say that woojin used to bully the members and hate him unnecessary, he left in 2019 and he gets still all this hate. Although I am a month late and this probably doesn’t matter anymore I still wanna point them out First Lee Minho is the main dancer and he isn’t a visual (even tho he could be) hyunjin is the only visual although most of us stays refer to danceracha as visualracha. Also Felix and Hyunjin aren’t sub-rappers they are lead-rappers Changbin and Han are main rappers 3racha isn’t the rap unit of stray kids because Bang Chan is actually considered more of a vocalist than a rapper and Felix and hyunjin also make up the rap line. 3racha is the production unit. Seungmin is not a sub-rapper he is just a vocalist (but anyone of the members could be lead rappers or even main rappers in different groups) Also it was very upsetting that in Felix’s section it was mostly the other members and the clips that were shown of him were so vague compared to the others. You barely saw his actual dancing skills and rapping skills. Like he is a rapper and I can find many clips of Felix rapping more than two lines. There are over a dozen clips on the internet of Felix being a Sunshine, like literally videos on the one topic with video proof and none of it made it to this video really. Also Hyunjin is also a main dancer and Felix is lead dancer but the position don’t really matter cause they are the dance line of the group Also wished they showed more of seungmin sing or excluded the first clip because it was just jisung in the back singing high notes (which would make sense if they were talking about jisung) Also for almost an hour long guide I wish they had given more context for some the things that were said about Hyunjin. Also the hiatus that he had (which still upsets me thinking another amount of hyunjin content we could have gotten in those months) Jeongin isn’t a sub-rapper but ok sure whatever it doesn’t even matter anymore Stray kids consist of 8 dancers, 8 rappers and 8 vocalist so putting ranks behind it is useless and if you are gonna put ranks make sure they are right
