Had to laugh when you talked about how you felt the song was supposed to be like this, because Billie and Finneas actually argued for a long time about it. Finneas wanted the song to start with the chorus, Billie wanted it to start with "My Lucifer is lonely". But when she listened to the other version, she thought it was way better. Jonas Lievrouw I’ll have to check this out! That’s so cool that they thought the same thing lol! I couldn’t quite say why but this just seemed to be the way the song should be 🙂

Yessss this is such a good live cover!!! And i agree this version is definitely better than the original which didn't seem possible but she's amazing! You should definitely check out her carpool karaoke with James corden you really get to meet her and hear her story and also get some amazing live vocal

Thanks for your deeper dives into Billie and Finneas. Another good live is 'Wish you were gay - MTV'. Also her NYLON set of three goes back to her earlier days but very unique.

This is the other version they did. Billie wanted to put the "My Lucifer is lonely" at the beginning, Finneas wanted to do it like this. They "fought" and Billie won. But she said in an interview she regrets not doing it the other way🖤

Yes, I feel this way about Billie’s version of “End of the World”. It’s so amazingly spot on in evoking a vulnerable longing; meanwhile the original sounds like an entitled friend zoned dude superficial generic pop song in comparison. (Can you tell that I dislike the original?)
