When thinking of the biggest band to ever come from Australia/New zealand, i think it's a toss up between Ac/dc and split enz/crowded house. This is crowded house live at the sydney opera house in 1996. I was in that crowd somewhere. :)

Saw both Split Enz and Crowded House perform at the same concert in 1990. Was awesome.

The Crowdies crafted perfect pop tunes, but they loved to jam and improvise on stage. Incredible band, and as good as they still are today, this was their definitive line-up at its peak, just before they disbanded.

If you have never been to a CH show, I highly recommend. If you know the words to the songs it's even better, I remember being at the Wiltern theater in Los Angeles seeing CH. Band members were leaving the stage and playing in the audience. Everyone was singing, and it sounded great.

The first concert I ever went to was Crowded House in 1987 or '88 in Tauranga when I was 12. Schnell Fenster and Paul Ubana Jones were the openers.

Farewell to the World Concert, 1996 - it was a free concert and hundreds of thousands of people attended - I was there! This was the classic CH lineup - RIP Paul Hester. You definitely need to watch the whole show!
