This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; a survival audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with Lazenca Save Us winning 4 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs 2! Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist & rock vocalist with soprano falsetto voice), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, one of the semi-finalists from Voice Korea 2, rough-textured husky tone with R&B, Pop groove). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. Ko WooRim said they met more than 300 days an year together in Phantom Singer All Stars behind interview but in a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. So I think this explains how their perfection executed. Don't miss their new m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders.

You have just discovered probably the best quartet on the planet: great voices and wonderful harmonies. The name Forestella is a combination of "forest" and the Latin/Italian word for star "stella". Their group name means "a forest of stars". If you watch some of their own videos you'll often find a thank you message to "Soop Byeol" (two Korean words; literal translation: forest star). That's what they call their fans.

All members of Forestella are excellent singers and their rendition of Scarborough Fair was beautiful. They added their own touch to it. Like Dimash they like to mix pop/rock with elements of classical music and want to address a broad audience. All their "Immortal Songs 2" performances are amazing.

I don’t know why but Scarborough Fair covers are some of my favorite. This was definitely one of the best I’ve heard. Has just become a personal favorite.

I knew you would like them, Dave. Forestella is indeed another rabbit hole to go down and I promise you won't regret it. Although these guys have four different voices, their harmony when they sing together is outstanding. I suspected that the bass singer would be your favorite. ;-) Their names from left to right in this video: Ko Woorim (classically trained bass), Kang Hyungho (countertenor and rock voice, no vocal training), Cho Mingyu (tenor and the band leader), Bae Doohoon (tenor, muscial actor). So they cover all ranges. Some recommendations for you: their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is amazing. "Hijo de la luna" and "Nella Fantasia" are pure eargasms. If you prefer a song with rock elements then their winning performance "Lazenca, Save Us" is for you. They just released their first music video with their song "Save our lives". It's visually and vocally a masterpiece and was published on their own channel (I mentioned the link to the official Forestella YT channel in my comment on Patreon). There are some religious and mytological motifs in it. For a traditional emotional Korean song check out "If I leave" (video title 포레스텔라 - 나 가거든[불후의 명곡 전설을 노래하다). The background of this song is a tragic event in Korea's history. When Japan invaded Korea, Japanese brutally murdered the last Chosun dynasty queen. The song was written by a Korean who estimated the feelings of the queen at that time. You should look for the English lyrics of this song if you want to listen to it. gaston from beauty and the beast...that's woorim ko and he's the lowest main category of bass, a basso profundo. he and the leggiero tenor with the boyish clear voice are both classically trained. i'm glad you found sohyang too! if you know sohyang and forestella then you've got the best of the best of korea's singers!

Their harmonies are some of the best. So much talent in one group is rare. Imagine if they collaborated with Sohyang and gave a concert with her. Usually I prefer live performances but in this case I suggest the music video with its beautiful imagery.
