They have a big concert that can't be done by the Kpop match girlgroup. They had so much public recognition that they were invited to the Blue House to meet the South Korean first lady. 10. 'SM Girls' successfully made "GIRLS" GENERATION "as their own name SNSD is the first K-pop girl group with a big fanbase that rivals the boy group, became a role model for many female idols and won the hearts of the general public. Girls Generation doesn't care how many new idols go up, SNSD STILL ON TOP GIRL GROUP.

One thing great about 2nd Gen groups is, they didn't stick to 1 concept or style and liked to experiment with different sounds. You never know what you're going to get with each comeback. and Girls Generation was great at that. They tackled any concept like it was their own. Not that there's anything wrong with groups sticking to 1 or 2 concepts nowadays because it does help show consistency and give them a signature sound (there's pros and cons to both).

"I Got a Boy" is the Bohemian Rhapsody of Kpop. It's all over the place, but at the end the song 'bring it back to 140'.

"The Boys" was SM's first foray into the USA market, hence why they had an English version for it. As a result, they even got to perform on some late-night USA shows. They were pretty much the second group to try to enter the USA market, after Wonder Girls with "Nobody" and "2 Different Tears". "I Got A Boy" has been touted by many as the "Bohemian Rhapsody of K-pop", due to its unique style and blending of sounds. It even won a KZfaq Award for Best MV at the time. Surprising that it vibed with you straight away, even for me, it took some time listening to it to get used to it and enjoy it ;0 "Lion Heart" did very well for its release, in fact, they've won 1st for it on music shows about as many times as they did with "Gee"!

I cannot describe how Yuri - my first female bias ever in kpop - makes me feel. Her with the sunglasses in IGAB and her ending part in Lion Heart are so nostalgic to me and dear to my heart when I was first experiencing them - she owns my entire heart.

Have you ever thought of digging into Girls' Generation's Japanese discography? Their Japan stuff is like super different than their Korean stuff and most fans prefer their Japanese songs. Just throwing it out there, but I agree their Japanese work is really well produced. "Mr. Taxi" is the most popular, "Catch Me if You Can" is a fan favorite, and I like to throw in a ballad like "Time Machine"

That "amazing" video of I Got A Boy won the first KZfaq Video of the Year Award and shocked the rest of the world. Lion Heart is one of my favorite SNSD songs! As for guides, there aren't many of them, but there is an ot9 unhelpful guide by yarsm that I think may be one of the best you'll find. In terms of other things to react to, if you haven't checked out the song 'Witch' from the Good Girl reality show, it's really badass! It's performed by a five-member group: Yeeun (CLC), Jiwoo (KARD), Hyoyeon (SNSD), Cheetah and Jamie (formerly Jimin of 15&).

Yay for GG! The first kpop group I ever listened to and continued to love. The way your whole face changed and the enthusiastic head bop kicked into gear when the beat dropped in The Boys was adorable. If you don’t mind me suggesting I think Girls’ Generation - “Mr Mr” “Catch Me If You Can” “Run Devil Run” and “Dancing Queen” are great! I like all of their songs but these are some of my favorites that you haven’t seen. Their sub unit TaeTiSeo is amazing too. The three from there would be “Twinkle” “Holler” and “Adrenaline” The other subunit Oh!GG’s “Lil Touch” is iconic and you absolutely have to watch them. Solos. I know you’ve seen Taeyeon but Seohyun’s “Don’t Say No” and Yuri’s “Into You” are also amazing. Speaking of Taeyeon I don’t think you’ve seen “I’ve Got Love” or her preformance of Into the Unknown. A fun fact about SNSD is that they sound even better live.

So many girl groups AND boy groups have covered them. Like SO MANY. They are truly legends. They have inspired so many. Kpop idols today have looked up to them since they were trainees. They shine individually and were named Nations girl group. Back then there wasn’t many girl groups, but they made it through obstacles and made it to 13 years. They are still on the charts and even tho they are second generation they are still top ten favorite girl groups. They have won so many awards and because of that they are still on top ten or top 5 of most awards. They are the reason why we have so many girl groups today. They have 3 tours/concerts that are top ten of Girl groups around the world, next to spice girls, destiny’s child and more. Truly Legends and Queens of kpop.

Blackpink is global now because kpop is now big, but Girls Generation during their peak was the only girl group who were beating boy groups in Kpop.Their impact >>> even now you will see they have 2 superstars Taeyeon and Yoona, plus the rest are also still active as actresses

You totally need to check out their JAPANESE RELEASES! Girls' Generation has the most amazing list of japanese tracks. MR TAXI (their first single, which led to their first also japanese album), FLOWER POWER, PAPARAZZI, GALAXY SUPERNOVA, BAD GIRL, and LOVE AND GIRLS are my favourites. KARMA BUTTERFLY is another song of them, never got an MV, but the live performance is INCREDIBLY AMAZING!

IGAB is truly the bohemian rhapsody of kpop, it has a lot of genre but totally enjoyable and a bop. they're my first kpop group and this what made me stan, it is indeed very nostalgic i really love it!!

She's also in SM, an extremely legendary name in Kpop history, and I think you would enjoy her style! Why the heck SM thought Lion Heart was a good idea when most other girl groups were going full-on sexy concepts, I have no idea---unless being different from all the rest would give them an edge? Well it worked! Visually and choreographically it's an 'homage to MGM movie musicals and the fashion and popular dance styles of the 20.s, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's ---bizarre really but as an MV it's just so visually entertaining. And then the vocals are exceptional--even for SNSD.
