Killing me is one of those songs that no matter how many times you listen to it, it still hits different

That’s a common thing with YG groups: the assumptions not matching the reality of the sound. From beginning to end, musically, yg artists kinda defy expectations. A lot of my favorite ballads are YG ballads, especially Big Bang ones.

Yes I'm so glad you're starting your iKON journey! These three exact songs would be considered the break up trilogy! In particular, Love Scenario and Killing Me are seen as the Jekyll and Hyde of each other. Their other song I'M OKAY can also be included in the break up series as well. For me, I'M OKAY is still my fav iKON title track. They are a hip hop group so it's not wrong to assume the opposite of these songs, based on being an outsider & only knowing Bobby, bc they do have club bangers & agressive rap centered songs. I mean you heard a bit of their song Rhythm Ta on the intro for Kingdom, so yeah they've got that side to them just like you imagined they would have. But as you now also see, they tend to do a lot of emotional love songs, a lot more than one would think! They came out with a lot of different sounds when they debuted actually including this sentimental type! Alsooo, I'm surprised you recognise Killing Me! Let me remind you the voice that you comment on first & consistently that you love in Why Why Why, Love Scenario, and Killing Me is DK (Donghyuk)! The raspy voice guy is Ju-ne. IKON's b-side songs are also great, you should check it out too. Additionally, in Bobby's first solo album, his songs are all chill. They are different to his new album which you said has an aggressive sound. But anyhow his songs are always great. 😉

Goodbye Road is my Top 1 song on Spotify for two consecutive years

For me they are one of my favorites group when we talk about lyrics, it's just really beautiful. So if you didn't read the lyrics because you were too amazed by the video I recommend you to do it

The helpful guide from the channel konfire TV is definitely one of the most complete ones (in terms of information) I've seen, it came out like a week ago. The most popular guide would probably be the one by the channel wi*ink, althought i think the first one is more informative, the other one is funner. If you have the time watch both but either way Ikon are alawys amazing bless 😭 *The first one doesn't include too much on B.I so theres also that problem for you learning :/

Thank you so much for reacting to iKON! They definitely beat the expectations people have on them haha. Anyways, as you probably already know their leader and main composer B.I was forced to leave the group due to malicious rumors in 2019. iKON was at the peak of their career when everything went down so now OT6 has been slowly building their way back up. B.I left the public eye for a bit but has since been a bit more active and there is a big chance that he will return to the music scene this year! iKON was formed though 2 survival shows aired in 2013 and 2014. Their debut single is My Type which is a super feel good song and then came out with Rhythm Ta which is more hip hop based. I think it would be great if you react to "This is iKON: The Seven Pride of iKONICS"it gives a lot of info on how they were formed and all they had to gro through.. you can look into the individual members a bit more through other guides!

Especially on the heels of Love Scenario, a mega-hit, super catchy song that is masterful in its simplicity about a relationship that was good, then it ended, and thats ok: Killing Me is one of the greatest masterpieces of kpop. Basically the anti-Love Scenario in how the chorus goes, the message about how the narrator ignored their partner's feelings after a breakup and is now feeling the negative effects and longing himself. Its not only that and the agony that hes feeling, but also self reflective at the end and asking whether its actually missing the person, or if hes being selfish and just feeling lonely. I can't get over how masterful this song was as a follow up to Love Scenario. Nothing could ever make a repeat of that, it would be trying to catch lightning in a bottle. But imo they made an even better song. I hope you get to try I'm Ok soon. Along with Goodbye Road, these 4 songs is one of the greatest strings of releases in kpop history imo. B.I got done so fucking dirty, him getting thrown under the bus for his "drug scandal" was like trying to throw a bucket of water on a gas fire that was already devouring an entire block.

Omg listen to their ‘Return’ album. I’m not an even an ikonic, but that album is one of my all-time favorites. iKon is just one of those groups where the majority of their discography is just so listenable for every day.

This was one of my early Kpop groups so I have a fondness and find all their songs great. There are definitely some hard hitting ones and songs that really match their personalities, but B.I's songwriting was s spectacular. I can't wait to hear what he comes up with now on his own. I am worried that iKON will go the way of many groups that debuted over 5 years ago and get forgotten by their company. I can't wait to see Kingdom and see their unique style in that program.

Ah yes, Love Scenario. That song literally made me, forced me, compelled me to listen to it so much until I finally fell into the k-pop black hole and things were never the same... Ikon definetely has a special place in my heart for that, and their discography is ridiculous good.

Love Scenario is sooo legendary, IKON owned 2018! They are all incredible artists, I just hate the way YG has treated them, the boys deserve so much better, I have a love/hate relationship with all these companies 😭🤣

it's hard for me to love a whole discography of a group (bg), and ikon's music did that!! then i found oneus' and onewe's. it took me about 1.5/2 years? in between, I've tried to listen other groups but nothing immerse me like ikon did hoho all my friends fade up since i just cant get in unless it's ikon 😆 (especially bts since most of them are army) 😂😂 i just ended up liking one or two from the entire discographies or casual listener. thank you to those who read this (*￣3￣)╭ have a nice day ❤

Just to let you know, you are reacting to one of the most legendary trilogies, no dare I say including I’M OK, one of the most legendary quadrilogies in kpop. 2018 was defined by a truly ikonic run of songs that dominated the moment. I will never get over that time period.

12:00 Yes yes yes! THIS! They don't put anything just for shock value, impress with unnecessary bells and whistles or overwhelm to leave an impact. Everything has a purpose. I always say that the genius in iKON's music is very understated. It may seem straightforward and simple but has a lot of layers to it that makes it a masterpiece. I feel like every iKON quality are actually like that from their music, lyrics, vocal delivery, dancing, rapping, energy, showmanship, etc. It has a lot to do with with them being very natural at what they do. That rawness that you say. I find the parallel with their off cam personality. In contrast to their image (superficial layer) they're actually very down-to-earth, unpretentious, and honest people. The more you dig deep you'll understand the many aspects that make them a very special group. If you want to know more about the members, iKON TV is a good start. 😊

if you want a fun throwback to their early days and something a bit different for variety, you should check out ‘anthem’! it’s basically just the rapline (bobby and b.i.) and definitely more the kind of song you would expect initially from a yg group, but it’s a bop. also: their b-side ‘one and only’ which is a b.i. solo track goes HARD
