I don't blame Kyrie for what he did infact I respect him. LeBron controls the ball for the majority of the time and Kyrie is tired of people just considering him as an iso scorer. Dude knows he is much more than that and he is proving that in Boston. I would be pissed af too if a small foreward is trying to take over my position as a pg.

I am going to say something that is very counter intuitive. The Cavs do not have a winning culture. The Cavs win and they win to a championship level, but their culture says otherwise. The Cavs won 52 games and were the number 2 seed in the East when everyone knows they were the overwhelming favorite in the conference. In a bad year that team should have won 62-63 games and 65-67 if they performed to their talent level. I won't say LeBron was the reason they didn't put a high priority on winning as much as possible outside of the playoffs. I believe Ty Lue is the cause for the culture which doesn't always prioritize winning. Ty Lue's mantra is just get to the end of the season healthy and we will be alright. We don't need to develop any habits or have any rhythm. Talent will take us to the finals. LeBron didn't help much when he wasn't upset about the finals loss. LeBron said I did what I could and that wasn't what Kyrie was expecting from the team leader.

No you right they under achieved in the regular season. Their offence was mainly Lebron and Kyrie doing iso's and passing to three point shooters. It seems he realized how tiring that was and knew something had to change. The team was almost last in defense and you had two losing months before the playoffs.
@bluewave3417
@bluewave3417 6 жыл бұрын
Some set ups just aren't meant to last. I remember the Kobe/ Shaq Lakers well. Those two were never going to retire on the same team. One guy was charismatic, friendly, liked to goof off, and didn't completely take the game seriously. And that was the OLDER one. The other was an a-hole who worked tirelessly on his game. He showed very little personality and only cared about basketball. He wasn't trying to be friends with anyone. He just wanted to win. Its like they were from two different planets. LeBron and Kyrie are just different guys. Cleveland should just be happy about the championship they did win. Because that situation wasn't going to last long anyway.

Lol. He said he wanted to be happy in a different environment. Play a traditional pg role. He wants to become a more complete player. Which is the role the GM said he would have b4 Lebron returned. Kyrie could have mentioned the trade rumors he was involved in after they won their 1st Championship. Then trade rumors around draft night involving PG and Bledsoe coming and him leaving. He could have spoke on the uncertainty of Lebron coming back after this upcoming season. He answered why he left and sidestepped the questions asked to create "noise" and sound bites.

Kyrie is beyond intelligent, he tried to explain it several times to people who can't understand how much thought he's put into this. He made a decision that this was not the right situation for him, sure Lebron was part of that, probably a larger part than he is admitting in the interview. But Lebron probably wasn't the defining part of his decision, it was the team, the culture, the way he was being used, the timing etc etc, I doubt anyone in the KZfaq comments section can understand but if you listen to what Kyrie is saying in the long interview you get a real answer, not something ESPN is spinning into a better more dramatic story.

KingKeef J That would have been acceptable and moved the spotlight right back on Lebron. And every question could have been worked off of that, like when they asked him if he communicated with Lebron that he wanted a trade, instead of being like no, he could have said Lebron didn't communicate with him about his plans for free agency so he didn't feel it was necessary to say what his personal plans were. They didn't have this type of relationship.

I believe he is talking about the coach and management, mainly the coach since he is more involved with him everyday. Most likely he was tired of watching Tyron Lue being a puppet for Lebron. Maybe if they had a more established respected tougher coach that would be able to stand up to Lebron and be able to manage all of the strong personalities and egos in the locker room than he would have felt that it was a better overall culture and had more belief and respect in it.

Lebron didn't tell Dwayne Wade either, he left Dwayne Wade, does that mean he didn't want to play with Wade anymore? How come it wasn't about Dwayne Wade when he went to Cleveland? PS: Paul Pierce has been hanging out with Doc Rivers too much.

So Kyrie goes to Celtics and Lebron goes to the Lakers next year. The classic Lakers vs Celtics rivalry reignited! Am I the only one hyped about this?

Is bussiness...If Lebron decide to leave the Cavs again, what about Kyrie? He's just not willing to wait for Lebron's decision to define his future and probably get stuck in Cleveland with his contract and by himself. He's making his decision and accepting the responsability before having to accept the outcome of someone else's decision, and giving the fact that he's just 25, it was a smart one.

If Lebron didn't stay in Cleveland his whole carreer, why Kyrie should do so? He's not the local guy...

Kyrie saw how things were going, if they fail to win this year's title ( and they will ), lebron's gonna leave to LA and let the ship sink, all veterans will either retire or become free agents so he'd find himself at a dead point, so he was like fuck it im outta here, he just saw where it was going

He is the dang PG though, so why are they mad that he wants to actually play it instead of iso? The culture isn't about only LBJ, culture is about things like players getting treated the same, playing hard, hard work, cohesiveness. Winning or losing comes from how you approach the game (culture). Like Philly had a losing culture because everything they did, the effort on and off the court was geared towards setting them up to lose!

If only ESPN would cover sports that actually matter as much as they do basketball. Why do we have to hear about grown children in the NBA 24 hours a day? Talk about grown folks sports like baseball, boxing, or soccer more.

Windhorst right he's saying kyrie basically disliked his role on the team and all cause lebrons there and there's no taking over while with lebron so he bounced. I think it's smart really.

Their organization sucks, how hard is that to understand, their owner is not only horrible but gives all the power to one of kyries teammates

His timing is impeccable to go. He knows LeBron is gone after this season. He also knows the warriors are clearly better, and the Cavs have done nothing to bridge the gap. And he doesn't want to be stuck in 2019, in his contract year, to have to get a new deal with parts built around LeBron, not him. Now, he's on the second best team in the conference, that with him at least has a chance to take Cleveland now, and in the future. Well played.
