"Black Hole Sun" is a song by Soundgarden, written by Chris Cornell, the song was released on May 13, 1994, as the third single from the band's fourth studio album Superunknown (released March 8, 1994). It is arguably the band's most recognizable and most popular song, and remains a well known song from the 1990s.

You should check out her covers of "Oops I did it again!" and 'Seven Nation Army" by Britney Spears & White Stripes respectively. Also backed by PMJ, she apparently is able to not just "Sing" all genres of music, but more importantly, she brings her own tools to bear, and recasts or redefines each one, to such a degree, that at least in my opinion, they're almost not "covers" anymore, but new pieces of Art. I don't really know how this works, charisma? Maybe? Personality? Whatever it is, she has tons of the stuff.

I loved your reaction, but that was Haley's worse PMJ video by far. Someone must have steered you wrong. Search Haley Reinhart Creep, Haley Reinhart Seven Nation Army, or Haley Reinhart Oops I Did It Again. Those three videos are all astronomically far better relative to Black Hole Sun, which is Haley's by far weakest PMJ performance and lowest viewed video of all by far. Nobody reacts to that Black Hole Sun Video because it is not nearly as good as her other stuff. My God. You're not going to get many of views on this one I'm sorry to say. You wasted your time.

It's also two years newer than any of those others. Don't forget "Mad World" with Puddles! But her performance in the group "All About the Bass" is also mighty good.

+Cotter Pin An important factor here is that the Soundgarden version was brilliant, both Cornell's singing and especially the strange, atmospheric instrumental accompaniment, better than any of the other originals that Haley and PMJ have covered. In fact, it's the only original that I have really liked. It's likely that the string arrangement of PMJ didna go down so well. However, the non-Reaction PMJ version with Haley has had nearly 8m views which isna too shabby. My own favourites are 7 Nation Army and Creep, but I don't think this is as weak as you seem to be suggesting.

Well, in my case, I never ever was a fan of that song back in the nineties or of Soundgarden. Their music never appealed to me. In fact, I know this may sound strange, but I was into country music far more than I was into rock or pop in the nineties. In fact, the nineties was the golden age for country music. It has tapered down quite significantly since then and today is not nearly as big and as popular as it was back then.

I bypassed decades of Rock and Pop, and I'm only now beginning to hear some of it by listening to the originals that I've heard Haley and some other artists covering. I was listening mainly to jazz and Scottish folk music. I liked the first generation Rockers like Fats Domino, Elvis, Jerry Lee, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. But I couldna see past Jerry Lee for Country singing. Absolutely none of the others, for me, could generate such a huge emotional impact as he could apart possibly Ray Charles on his forays into the Coujntry field. Country Music has changed so much now that a lot of it seems the same as Pop.
