Mayweather was 36 in that Canelo fight so maybe not in his prime but certainly not "old" like people like to make it out to be. For example look Terence Crawford is turning 35 this year and you don't see anybody calling him "old".

I see as this way..to me yes canelo was 40-0 when he fought an old Floyd..but an old Floyd was still physically the better fighter overall besides power..Floyd also by that time had world class opponents under his belt unlike canelo at the time which was around 4… you cant tell me that canelo wasn’t out experienced and outclassed by Floyd because even before hand canelo was still struggling against top fighters aka Lara and trout.. but if it wasn’t for Floyd beating canelo that night, he wouldn’t have been what he became today..a world class boxer..arguably already the best Mexican boxer out there. Floyd created a monster I don’t even think he even realized he was going to create. Canelo as of now is literally the perfect boxer except for his flat foot at times. This canelo Álvarez imo would give any boxer in any generation a run for there money if not put some hands on them in his respective weight class.only person that I would see beating a prime canelo in his weight class would be Roy Jones jr.
