"Ah, I remember hearing Seungkwan's voice for the first time... What a time" "I could just watch them dance for days" "You beautiful man" "Look at his arms, Jesus Christ" "...I have nothing to say" "Honestly, what have you guys done to me? You've introduced me to this group and now I'm forever changed. Like, what am I mean to do now?" *If this ain't all of us* (Also hooray appreciation for Wonwoo's vocals)

I don't know if you've been told this already, but the "flickering street lights" in DWC is a notable Hoshi-choreo moment in DWC ❤️

I think Seventeen are so creative and smart about highlighting certain members during the choreo. Even transitioning between members within the same formation is seamless and doesn't feel repetitive. About singing live, usually the person singing will have a break from the overall choreo and will only sing a few lines, but it's still crazy to consider their stamina and stability in delivering stellar vocals as well as exhausting choreography. I love your comments about how they incorporate hard-hitting and soft elements into all their choreographies; they really phrase with body language incredibly and have such a deep sense of musicality. Not only are all the individual members fluid in combing in these different elements, but consider the fact that they have to be on the exact same page in terms of expressing each motion to remain synchronized... Crazy to think about. I completely agree that it just gets tiring to say how good Seventeen are 😂

I'm not sure if anyone has told you before but the dance in the chorus of Home is them opening a door and walking towards it. also, for Fear, they said they worked harder and spent more time practicing acting intoxicated than learning the actual dance itself. Jun mentioned that he's done a lot of spinning before but not the kind that is not "proper." DK mentioned that he practiced getting up from the intro position for 3 hours. and everyone said that they all looked crazy in the practice room trying to immerse themselves to the concept. these guys actually really sing live. especially seungkwan and dk. DK IS REALLY LOUD ever since debut. there's times seungkwan's voice cracks but that's understandable. there's also times when they sing with loud backtracks. jeonghan, especially, has louder backing track during his parts at award shows. joshua started becoming more stable around 3 comebacks into their debut - Boom Boom era. among the performance team, Hoshi and Dino are the most stable - Hoshi since debut and since he was originally meant to be part of the vocal team. For Dino, I guess his talking voice is normally loud and he has been dancing at a very young age so he must've a core strong enough to be stable live. the unit with all members that are stable of course is the hip hop team - each of them are just really loud. also, a little trivia, i've mentioned that hoshi was supposed to be in the vocal team. along with that, vernon and woozi were also supposed to be in the performance team.

Finally some appreciation for Hoshi. He really deserves to be credited more for all the hours he put in and the choreographies he contributed. Sadly, their company (Pledis I’m looking at you) even removed Hoshi and other performance team members in the credits for some of their choreographies as Pledis doesn’t want to pay them/give their share of royalties. I really appreciate you mentioning about Hoshi’s choreographies as he has a very distinct choreography style (you’ll notice it more as you watch more performance/choreography videos). He uses everyday scenes (picking up tissue, flickering of street lights, opening a door, etc.) in their choreographies. Also we shouldn’t forget Dino, Jun, and Minghao as they also contribute to the overall seventeen choreography style.

Hoshi appreciation time, we love to see it! He honestly really deserves so much more credit for what he does. So I'm really happy everytime someone mentions him and recognizes his work. As you've said here, he doesn't work alone, but he is like their main choreographer. The core of Seventeen's performances basically. Yeah, sort of like Woozi, but on the dance side. He alternates between working with a choreographer, a dance team, or the performance unit members. It changes, depending on the song. There are also some routines that was made entirely by him. Those are mostly on their earlier discography. They're too busy now so it's understandable that he can't really make a choreography alone anymore. But he still gives inputs and is still making effort to choreograph with the help of others, and I love him so much for it. I wanna give all the appreciation and everything in the world for him! Anyways, thank you so much for mentioning him here! I really appreciate it❤

Been waiting for this!! Trivia : the don't wanna cry choreography you liked where s.coups and jeonghan walk between members, the hand movement like a lamp or light post was actually an idea from Hoshi. He was walking outside their studio to the dorms when he was thinking about the choreography and the lightpost while he walked flickered above him and the idea sort of clicked for him! The same thing happened when he was thinking about Pretty U choreography as well.

Some dancers calls that leap "triple axel" They've been choreographing their own dances since their trainee days.. There's a video called something like "Hoshi as choreographer". I'm not really sure about the title but it shows how is Hoshi as a choreographer 😊 You can check it out.
@asleepbyseven
@asleepbyseven 4 жыл бұрын
It's actually a barrel jump! Barrel turns and jumps are more horizontal, as if you were lying on your back in the air, aka jumping over a barrel. An axel would be more like a pas-de-chat while turning and jumping. Fun fact is that they've also used the barrel jump in Getting Closer and Thanks btw so its a true staple in their choreo's :)

Hoshi said that even if people danced to svt's choreo it would be hard for them to keep up because svt doesn't dance to the song but they dance to the beats. Recently they switch it. They dance to the beat for a while and then you blink and they are dancing to the melody then you blink again they dance to nothing( in the good to me song there is a part where the song stops completely for a few seconds and they continue with the dance without missing a beat) That is such an amazing thing from my point of view because for me dances go in two categories: hard dances and harder dances.

As someone who ults Jun, it took some time for me to realise that he was wearing the red cap in the dance practice. I went by for months not knowing that he was Jun all along cuz he never wears a cap or something in dance practices. Usually it’s either Vernon or The8 who wears cap or something similar. Also their range in dance is incredible and their individual styles are really well hidden for a big group. I find it fun to find out what their strengths and styles are cuz you have to look for them. In terms of individual style there’s smooth (Dino, Seungkwan), graceful (Joshua, The8), elegant (Jun, Woozi, Jeonghan), theatrical (Hoshi, DK), swag (Vernon) and rough (Wonwoo, Coups, Mingyu). Performance team’s styles are a lot easier to see, but everybody has their own style. Seventeen are a really great and talented group! I always enjoy your reactions! Thank you for the video!
