Over the three albums comprising this storyline you will see them use this call back technique quite beautifully to pull it all together into a coherent narrative.

For me with this song, its the way the chorus blends so damn well with 3 styles of music. It flows with the opening hypnotic soft style, the hip hop, and the brighter poppish third movement.

I have enjoyed seeing you experience and fight the emotional nature of this song. It helps me realize that I'm not the only one who feels this way and that it's okay to feel this way about this song. You are in for a great and wild ride. If you are up for a suggestion, I would suggest doing a listen through from beginning to end of Sundowning followed by This Place Will Become Your Tomb and ending with Take Me Back To Eden. If you do it this way, you will get a lot of the call backs and references that ST does. In this song, at the end there are call back lines/melodies to the first song in this record called Chokehold. "It was no Accident" and "Tangled up like branches in a flood" are the lines I'm referencing. I feel like you would greatly benefit from this journey personally. As someone else said, "Sleep Token will heal us all!"

You mentioned telling a story. This album is the end of a trilogy. I see it as Vessel’s journey of pain, loss, heartache, toxicity, acceptance, overcoming and healing. Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, & Take Me Back To Eden are art in its highest form. Do yourself a favor and listen to it all start to finish. And do us a favor and make videos of it.

I only started watching reaction videos after i got into Sleep Token a couple of years ago. They very quickly because very special to me and i love seeing people discover them! The other track of the new album that I would HIGHLY recommend is Euclid. As for older stuff, definitely Bloodsport (room below version) as the emotion is just so raw and heartfelt, The Love You Want as the video and song combined make it an incredibly beautiful experience, and The Offering, Higher and Jaws. The Way That You Were too, just vocals and organ. I had that song on repeat for like two days when I discovered it lol.

I subscribed from the Ascensionism video, but I would subscribe again. I love the approach you have to music, and seeing you discover Sleep Token for the first time is special. Their music either clicks with your soul or not, and it definitely clicks with you. Enjoy the ride, we will enjoy it with you!

I absolutely understand holding off on listening in order to make the reaction vids, absolUTELY, but I very highly recommend going through starting from sundowning and ending with this album. They did something very special, as artists, and wrote a story that begins with the first album and ties in to the third. The third album has a lot to appreciate as first time listeners for sure, but the sheer depth grows to higher moments of appreciation once you've consumed the others. They do quite a lot of callbacks to other songs in this album. It's a work of true art

Another band I would consider great at "ambient metal" would be Loathe. Aggressive Evolution would be a great starting point there.

I’ve been a massive fan since they released Jaws in 2016. I’ve been trying to push them on people ever since, they’ve been amazing since day 1 and deserve all the fame they’ve gotten. And just a little extra info, Vessel 1 and 2 (the drummer) write everything. But you really should look into their whole discography, nothing is bad.

Now that these two are out of the way, youre about to get a better feel for what all they’re capable of. Ascensionism and TMBTE are similar in structure but that can’t be said for another other songs. I can’t speak for everyone but if you post an 18 min video for a 7 min song, I’m here for all 18 min.

The reason why everytime the guitar comes in it sounds like a breakdown is because they have 8 string guitars tuned to drop E which is a whole octave lower than standard guitar tuning, which as a guitarist is insane to wrap my head around.

And it's not presented in a straight forward fashion, so there's plenty of theories to chew on and lyrics to digest and contemplate, and plenty of room to interpret, which to me is the hallmark of a great artist. If you're going down this rabbit hole, first "Welcome!", and second, take your time. Enjoy it. Each of the three albums; Sundowning, This Place Will Be Your Tomb, and Take Me Back To Eden are each their own thing, but part of a larger whole. A lot of what Sleep Token is deliberate, and you can get lost in the nuance of the content. But it's a powerful experience. Welcome to the club. :D Worship

Always remember my dad telling me that when he was going to primary school and got into bands like ACDC, Deep Purple, Motorhead and then early Metallica, Slayer, Testament, Vio-lence and so much more, all he was told by teachers, adults and most other pupils, was metal was just noise made by talentless dirty long haired wastes of space. He was told all metal sounded the same, all metal was violent, a bad influence, was the music of the devil etc. Listening to my dad's record & cd collection over the years, it became clear that the people my dad was talking about had never actually REALLY LISTENED to Heavy Metal because it was obvious to me how stunningly beautiful Heavy Metal is in all of its genre. How talented the musicians are and how incredible the vocalists are. These bands are full of experts playing their respective instruments and singers displaying a multitude of different vocal styles. Then finally, the lyrics in metal, tend to be far more relateable bringing out a multitude of emotions, that helps listeners maintaining their emotional wellbeing. This Song is just stunningly beautiful and is aural bliss to listen to. Metal has been the only music that has brought me comfort during my darkest days. This music has genuinely saved my life on several occasions. I just absolutely love it 🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️❤️

So. This is part three of a trilogy about the same topic. A relationship gone bad, and in this song it alludes that the relationship has turned violent, that it has traveled far beyond the path of reason. But underneath there is this deaire to retun to the innocence of it, this prayer yo salvage it. No amount of love can keep it(the relationship) around if we(plural) dont choose it. But despite best intentions and hopes to return to eden, in the end it devolves again into violence.

I understand that “worship” can be off putting for some, but I see it as the message Vessel is the conduit for is what is being worshipped, not the band or Sleep the deity. To get a better sense of their entire catalog. Just a phenomenal collective of good artists, who write moving music about love and the pain, joy, pleasure, and suffering that comes with it. Genre isn’t even a consideration when it comes to any great music. Good art, is good art!
