I love the ending of this MV, it’s like even when she shows her pain, people just see it as entertainment and they clap

Knowing how vocal Taeyeon has been about her experiences in the industry, I feel this song and its MV are going deeper than a lot of people are giving it credit for. I'm very much interpreting this as Taeyeon's relationship with the entertainment but she puts up with it for her fans. Very much akin to a toxic relationship.

oooh i really love the 'intentionally emotionless' thing you said, and i definetly can see it... it kind of goes with the line "it doesn't matter, i suppose this is what love is", as in, she's given up on love feeling good without the pain so she just numbs herself, trying not to feel anything so she doesn't feel the pain. Also the fact that her bruises on her face were caused by the roses that the audience threw is smth i didn't expect and it really feels like a metaphor for ppl seeig her pain as entertainment, they loved seeing her spiraling. plus her ending with a smile towards the audience despite being deeply hurt. It kinda feels like it's both describing an abusive relationship w someone, but also the toxicity of the relationship btw artist and the entertainment industry

First off, how dare she look that gorgeous covered in blood. Second, she was involved in the writing, concept, and shooting of this MV. This is the most creative freedom she's ever had under SM. And of course, she loves rock, so she had to go rock for this comeback, now that she has freedom. The whole crux of the song is, love isn't rational. You can't control yourself with love. Sometimes everything seems like a fairy tale (or a play in this instance) but behind that is very real vulnerability and angst. That's what Taeyeon is trying to convey here. Even when people shower the relationship with praise (and also in this case roses), those roses still have thorns. Not everyone on the outside can see the hurt and pain two people can inflict on each other, only THOSE two can. You can get scarred and wounded by relationships. Love is both beautiful and ugly. Well, at least is my interpretation of it. Taeyeon absolutely hits the pop-rock angst out of the park. And I need more. I love that she chose this song to convey all that, with all the freedom she's getting with this comeback. It's brilliant, beautiful and painful all at the same time and I adore it.

I don't know whether she killed the dude or not, but it's fairly clear to me that most of the cuts and blood on her at the end are due to the audience throwing roses (and their attendant thorns) at her in the final scene. Feels sort of symbolic of how superficial fame and celebrity don't really help with real emotional problems, and can in fact exacerbate them. Getting subtextual, maybe it's metacommentary on the idol industry in general? I can't say for sure, as it's certainly open to a whooooooole lot of interpretation, but I really think she's saying a LOT more here than just the surface-level blatant stuff.

5:57 is that a freeze frame? The ending of the MV perfectly conveys the unrequited love she has for her fellow co-star. The roses symbolize love, and yet they are also causing her pain. The physical wounds she's displaying mirror the ones she has on the emotional level. What a beautiful yet tragic MV.

I think for off stage, she still deeply love the coworker, but the coworker is not anymore. So she's struggling between off stage wanting him and on stage fulfillment to the point of finally the duality emotions exploded into on stage too trying to get him back and feeling frustrated but still got rebuffed while everyone in the audience just thought it was just some encore drama and threw roses that cut her. It was the saddest smile she ever did at the end of the MV.

i think the word i would use to describe the tone of this mv, her voice and her facial expressions, is "resigned." like she's resigned to the disparity between how she feels behind the proverbial curtains and the perception her audience has of her and the scrutiny she faces from the media, and she's resigned to the fact that she'll continue living that disparity

I might be over interpreting, but I find it intersting that in the 'play/musical' happy scenes she has a wig that is actually much more like her natural hair. In the 'sad reality' scence her hair is the blond she uses so often for her role as an idol. It's like another layer of what's real and what's fake?

I think my interpretation of the CCM MV is so outrageous that it may be possible. This MV has so many intentional details that it begs the question, “What is Taeyeon trying to tell her fans?” Knowing that Taeyeon contributed to the lyrics and the musical direction of this release, I think she is telling the tale of her love affair with music…so far (“TIME WILL ONLY TELL” as it says in the strategically placed book as blond Taeyeon is slumped on the floor). Growing up far from Seoul, her passion for singing took her far away from home quickly (on an express train), forcing her to learn to deal with the harsh adult world as an ingenue (short black hair) creating scars. As she begins pursuing her passion for music, she meets the embodiment of music at its best - SM as the well dressed man (who picks up her fallen music sheets), she becomes enthralled; in time a relationship blossoms. To the public it appears as if the bond is mutual but in reality it is one sided, and young Taeyeon will do whatever it takes to please SM/the man (the symbol of what she loves) even if her devotion and respect is not mutually reciprocated. The ring she wears while washing her hand represents the contractual relationship between them although it is inequitable (SM/the man is viewed as standing above her and gaslights her calling her crazy because she can’t control her reaction to how he treats her). As she washes her hand she tries to loosen it from her finger; she alludes to this in the song. When blond Taeyeon (idol of many years) appears after ingenue Taeyeon knocks down the vase of flowers (the end of naivety), she realizes the inequity in her relationship with SM/the man and the pain it has brought her. She also finds moments when SM/the man acts below her (he is seen walking down stairs ignoring her) or keeps his distance from her when she needs his intervention to deal with the public. Eventually she lashes out but knows she will not run away from the relationship because it has brought them both success and allowed her to perform on stage (her most favorite part of being a singer). There are 3 candles on the party cake but she isn’t happy or in a celebrating mood (this song is a pre-release of her 3rd full album). Taeyeon receives adulation/roses being thrown at her when she performs for SM/the man. He doesn’t protect blond Taeyeon but encourages the audience to continue in their behavior even though she becomes hurt from the thorns on the roses, it escalates to the point her face is drenched in tears/blood of purple (her favorite color so the wounds must be personal). Before the last scene, the ring is shown abandoned in the sink. As the curtain closes with her face and body cut and bloodied she manages to show her audience a slight smile, a sad and secretive one, as if she knows this will be the last moment of her toxic love affair with SM/the man. The last notes heard in the song denotes a closing, like that of a chapter or episode in a series. Is the ending shots of CCM MV a foreshadowing of Taeyeon taking away control of her musical destiny from SM? Only time will tell.

I loved every inch of this song. The lyrics, the story, the sounds, and of course our KING Taeyeon ♥️♥️ The mv reminds me of her "something new" MV as both describe how her feelings as a celebrity and what people see is different from her real self and reality. Also, how people can not differentiate between the real her and what she shows and how they do not care about she feels and only care about their amusement!! I like the fact that taeyeon participated in writing the lyrics and can't wait to listen to her full album hoping it will be the same quality as this 💙♥️

@@Soshiworld0805 It sounds a lot like alternative pop. They are close but different stylistic genres for sure But realistically, it's still gonna categorized as "kpop" even though there are different genres in Korea as well.

@@ad_kk16 Taeyeon herself called it pop punk ballad :) But the way I understand the meaning of Alternative is that it's not mainstream pop, but more like indie and not what you normally hear on the radio :) You're right, it's still a k-pop song as it's sung in Korean. So I guess it'd be called Alternative pop punk ballad ;) There's so many sub-genres and genres in music that it's near impossible to know what something is lol

@@Soshiworld0805 Really? Didn't knew that, I guess I can see that, like Avril Lavigne punk ballads. I wish it wasn't categorized as kpop because there are indie, rock and other genres in Korean. But of course, it is what it is. I'd say so, punk is in the sub-category with Alternative. But yes, that is 100% true because these days people really like to combine many genres in a song. Which can be confusing for many people, like me lmfaoo.

This song is killing me 😭😭 i really love it 😍😍 it's a beautiful masterpiece sang by someone i dearly love Taeyeon is insanely good in emotional music cause she knows how to deliver the message and the lyrics of the songs And the fact that she cowrote this 😍😍 , and her acting Taeyeon is the best Well for the MV i think she was describing her miserable and toxicated relationship through the musical or the theatral piece she was doing with that actor who happened to be her boyfriend in the MV , he treated her sooo bad untill nothing mattered to her and she can't control herself anymore cause she's bleeding from the inside and that was symbolized through her bleeding even from her eyes instead of years there was blood , and i can't help but to notice that the audience who were watching the musical who throw flowers on Taeyeon after the musical ended and she bleeding it's like they were throwing stones and thorns on her ( i think this symbolize how people would just watch someone's misery without interfering and when something happens and they hear about it they start saying shit hurting people's feelings without paying attention ) Anyway 😊😊 i love it and the song is a bop and a half , we don't need to talk about Taeyeon's vocals of course cause Taeyeon's vocals ore out of this world and no one can say otherwise , i am gonna be jamming to it until my ears are tired 😁😁😁
