I have heard he has two originals in Portuguese. I have not heard of them. I think because he grew up in a humble environment and performed mostly in churches with his musician family, he just didn't get the recognition. Apparently his friends convinced him to start singing in English which he learned by just listening to the songs over and over since he doesn't know English and then getting on KZfaq. That was very smart on his part because English is a universal language so people began to notice him. Jennifer Hudson heard him on KZfaq and somehow Simon Cowell got word from, Jennifer Hudson that Gabriel could sing extremely well, especially the high notes, so he invited him on AGT which gave him even more exposure. I believe the Bucharest orchestra performance you saw was his biggest audience yet. I think we'll be seeing him more and more because he's becoming more well known throughout the world.

Hope you continue to react to Gabriel. When you mentioned during the AGT reaction, that you would like to be his neighbor, I thought I'd like to be his neighbor too so I could listen to him practice all day as well as record some of his songs. I think he does that from home sometimes. You might like to hear a couple of his duets. One is with Jade Sallas and the other is with a friend of his Pedro Henrique, no relation. The one with Pedro is poignant because in December of 23, Pedro died at the age of 30 performing on stage. A natural death. So sad he was quite talented. They duet is stunning.

At his AGT audition he sang 2 songs but "And I'm telling you, I'm not going" was never aired. So, singing "Run to you" was nerve wracking. With that voice, he should have gone farther. But, he'll fly without AGT! 🇧🇷✨🔥

Part of the problem, is that Brazil has that typical macho culture that doesn't appreciate men singing American female deva songs, which he is known for. Also, around the time of his first AGT appearance, there was a lot of talk that his intent was to move to the U.S. at some point, likely near relatives he has in the Houston area.
