Composed by English musician Elton John, with lyrics by Tim Rice, the song was performed by Carmen Twillie (the deep female lead vocals) and Lebo M (opening vocals in Zulu)

As soon as Lebo sings that first note, you know that voice from a mile away. With me, when I first heard it my eyes filled with happy tears, a chill ran down my spine, and I had the biggest dumbest grin on my face. It was like I was a kid again. I don’t think Disney will ever be able to make a film that surpasses The Lion King. There were too many life lessons and the music was perfect. There is a reason why it is the best selling soundtrack for an animated film.

This is most definetly the best version of this song out of all renditions, and the one right behind it is also done by a South African group named Ndlovu Youth Choir - Circle Of Life. You should really check it out.

Lebo is the original singer, the original is almost always best. And yes this song without the video is emotional enough, then add the dancers and all the instruments on a stage and everything becomes perfect.

You are correct, it was Lebo and Elton who sang the original track. However I was rather impressed by Lebos vocals covering Eltons parts.

@@jemntertainmentoriginal singer was Carmen Twillie and Lebo m but Elton John wrote then song. Lebo M did the intro and Carmen sang the rest of the lyrics
