Our 900hp supercharged Chevrolet C10 known as "C10 Slayer" finally is shredding tires! We have many reactions from highs to extreme lows in this episode. My Dad and I have worked so hard to get our tandem axle truck to work and we did it. How long do you think it will take to burn off the tires? Comment your answer below

At the start of this video my first guess was driveline angles. As a professional truck mechanic I have seen this type of problem before. I also notice whoever built the front diff, put the output on the same plain as the input. If you look at a heavy truck axle, you will see that the input is on the bottom of the crown and the out put is on the top. This is done (as far as I learned) to minimize harmonic vibration and runout on the forward crown and pinion. If you end up developing problems as the parts wear, this could become an issue imo. Cool truck.

Yes, the big 4x6 agricutural trucks here have that setup like you stated. True they arenet smoking the tires, but when they have to lay on the pedal to get out of a muddy field, that crow hopping would be detrimental.

SUCCESS!!! You guys are RAD! hey though seriously, what it really comes down to is not trashing this one of a kind build with non stop burnouts (although Very Cool). It's something you both built together, and enjoyed the time spent together figuring it out. I sure miss the GOOD times I had with my pop anytime we worked on projects together. watching you guys brings it all back.

The biggest round of congratulations and applause goes to dad. You have done the most awesome thing by being the best dad by including your son in positive hobbies. He's not doing drugs or alcohol. He's not out robbing banks or stores. He's not out raping. You've taken him under your wing and nurtured his interests and skills, where the two of you have worked side by side on projects until this "masterpiece" of vision, was put together. I enjoy your videos. Just remember. Rome wasn't built in a day. And Edison didn't succeed the first 2000 times. He found 2000 days that didn't work. Keep trying. Best wishes in your continuing success. The truck is AWESOME!!

Check the backlash in the transfer drive line and the two diffs. The spring back along with tire expansion from what I saw in the slow-mo shot is what's causing some of the modulation. Go with the tightest tolerance that's safe. Remember the metal will get hot and expand too... Hope it helps. You might also try moving the rear axels a bit further apart by 2".

Your Mom was the best! She could just pick up on the vibe, Haha she could see her hubby was annoyed, so thats what she said, "annoying". Then she was like, "isn't no wheel hop a good thing?" Indeed, but when the fix is so simple, we get irritated at ourselves for missing it. Plus not being able to use those custom wheels... 😒

You're basically working with a contact patch about the same size as a large drag tire...but divided between two tires per side...getting it to work synchronously is going to be a small feat of mechanical engineering and a bit of Harry Potter wizardry...lol...this would also be a great demonstration for a physics professor

Posted this before but hopefully you see this and it helps. I am 99.9% certain that your rear pinion angle is changing under load causing the differentials to oscillate power since its a full floating rear on both. Axle wrap, leading to improper pinion angle on the rear diff ... there are many videos on KZfaq that show the issues of bad pinion angle
