I keep a Bible beside me all the time and read throughout every day. The holy ghost came to me through the rosary, and after watching The Chosen i dived deep into daily readings. The world is delving into evil, but the Lord walks with all who listen. Bless you all ❤

Another thing that I did to radically improve my focus on scripture is to review the FBI involvement in scriptural studies near David Koresh Waco child abuse. Strangely it is an immediate improvement in my diction. I shared the footage with my Muslim acquaintances in the neighborhood who could describe it too apparently with better communication about the Quran between us. Waco Texas is a source for me recalling duty to mothers.

Most Catholics just think that I’ll just get my Bible at the weekend mass, but read the Bible. It’s the word of God at least one of the ways God reveals himself to us.

I think the key to reading your Bible is constancy and quality not speed and quantity.

True my dad would be reading, mediating, and rereading a verse for several days. It took him a couple of months to get through Isaiah

As a Catholic I’ve always wondered how to balance my prayer life because we have so many amazing devotional and plus of course scripture. I’m believing more and more that there are seasons of prayer as well. Like one season of my life was praying 4 rosaries a day. I’d love to do this every day for the rest of my life but the Holy Spirit guides me how he wants me to focus my prayer life.

If prayer is conversation with God, then it should be consistent, everyday but in different forms.

I try to do one rosary a day based on the mysteries for that day, and then on Sundays I pray all 3 sets. That way it fits into the week nicely as you do the 3 sets twice and then conclude with all 3

That Icon that Ralph talked about is half of Jesus's face is merciful and the other half the just Judge. I seen someone explain it the other day. Interesting.

I’m all for people reading the Bible everyday but so many people read it and get it WAY wrong. I think it is safest and most profitable to read the word of God within the tradition of the Catholic Church.

I tried getting into "Proverbs". Every other chapter commanded the reader to beat the boy with the rod to teach him wisdom. Drove me quickly back into the New Testament lol.

I would suggest, try to read the wisdom books like Proverbs with an annotated version, or with the help of a theological commentary. They seem easy, but they’re not, and reading them as they are by ourselves is often not enough.

I come from a Roman Catholic background. We practically never read the Bible, nor any of my Roman Catholic relatives or friends. We were taught not not to, both implicitly and explicitly. And in their case the situation has not changed much. I've been reading it every day for the past 50 years. I thank the Lord God Almighty for the Protestant Revolution.

It's certainly my experience here in Nigeria that Catholics don't read the Bible. The difference between them and protestants can be ridiculous. I don't know about the west, but here in Nigeria, Catholics do not compare with protestants. Not saying that means Protestantism is better. Just stating the fact.

What I've always found funny about this claim is that there is a Holy Mass LITERALLY every day... where Scripture is read. It is an integral part of the Mass. So I never understand how any Catholic can claim we are taught "not to read the Bible". It's OUR book, for goodness sake!!!

@@chiagookonta3239believe me. It's the same in the West. In fact that is Ralph Martin's central thesis in this video. In fact I have heard him praise the sheer volume of Bible translation and propagation by the Protestants.
