Very helpful! I have the same caliper, and yeah, I'm in Canada where most of us use metric, and on that caliper , I never figured out how to measure using the inches on those types of vernier caliper where the inches have 16 divisions. I guess the better calipers will have an inch divided in to 10 ths instead of 16 ths, in which case you would use the same method shown to get a measurement in inches as you did with mm.

When you figure out second value for vernier caliper, do you count from the first value to the value where it matches the line??
