Labor Day is often referred to as the end of the summer, when vacations end and school begins. However, on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, located in Jim Thorpe, PA, summer went out with a bang! That's because Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad 4-6-2 #425 was hauling Labor Day's excursions into the Lehigh Gorge. #425 recently went through a 3 year restoration effort, and she is back and better than ever! We'll see her storm out of Jim Thorpe, thunder through Glen Onoko, and finally enter the Lehigh Gorge State Park, her Reading 6 Chime whistle echoing off the mountains.
