So excited to read Assistant to the Villain tbh, I've seen every TikTok episode and knew it would be a series, however, I'm glad to know the romance isn't right away in book 1! I think its probably much more inclined to those who've followed her tiktoks and excitedly waited for the name reveal for the villain!

Adjuncts are basically part-time faculty members, but they don't get the benefits that full time professors do, like solid pay, pursuing tenure ,and sometimes things like insurance and stuff like that. That's why Elsie has to work multiple adjunct positions at different schools and why her interviewing for the job is such a big deal. Academia is wild in that way, it's so hard to get a position in higher ed unless people retire, lol.

@@tishagaleaxx I don‘t think you have to read them in the correct order. I read all of them und they don‘t correlate with one another and characters of the other books don‘t appear in this one. They are stand alones. You should be good to go just reading Happy Place. 😊

I was really struck by the beauty of "Motion Detection", a thriller book that I found by chance on Amz while looking for a book by Freida McFadden. The cover intrigued me, it's an unusual book with a spectacular ending, I highly recommend it!
