Persuasion it's my favorite book from Jane Austen, there are 2 movie adaptation that are much better than the one you mentioned. Oh, and since you mentioned you think you don't dislike historical fiction as much as you thought, I really recommend Pachinko. It's a great, well written story, one of my favorite books

Thanks for that, that's so good to know, will definitely give those a go! Ahh and thank you for recommending Pachinko, I used to hear so many good things about it but didn't actually put in on my TBR. I think I will keep an eye out for a copy now :)

I recommend that you watch Persuasion (2007) the TV movie adaptation. I really love that movie and Sally Hawkins is a great actress. I weirdly prefer it over Pride and Prejudice. I think it's because I feel like Anne is more of her time, whereas the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie felt like a more modern take on Regency Era. I think I'm not a fan of the more modern takes on the era. I definitely avoided the newest Persuasion movie

This!! I was so confused when she said she didn't like it... I had completely forgotten about the "new" one, I haven't even seen her. The one from 2007 is AMAZING and so underrated!
