I held off reading Words of Radience for 6 years and read it at the beginning of the pandemic. I just reread it in January so I could finally read Dawnshard and Rhythm of War and it’s still my favorite in the series.

Great vlog as usual!! We had a super similar experience reading Wild Beauty. I really enjoyed it, gave it 4 stars, but in the months since it’s not a book I‘ve thought about at all lol A 3.5 would’ve been more accurate. The writing is timeless and dreamy as you said, but I felt very removed from the characters and setting…just not particularly memorable, I guess!!

I might need to read Mexican Gothic simply because I have the same name as the main character. Expanding on that, it’s really refreshing to hear it pronounced correctly by an English speaking person for once. I’m used to people butchering it and I literally stopped correcting them when they call me Naomi because I’m just tired of it😂

Iron Widow isn't a 2 year-old 5 star prediction, but it is the book I have the highest expectations for that I own. So, it is also the one I'm most scared will disappoint me. 🍎I get the whole being scared to read a book you think you will love thing.

I feel like I avoid books I think I will give 5 stars, because what if I don't love it as much as I'm expecting? Or what if I do and I don't have the time to sit down and read it and now I'm distracted all the time?

Sometimes you have to rate on vibes and how it made you feel rather than logically. Sometimes I give 5 stars to books that are probably a 3 logically but I had so much fun reading it that a 5 was the obvious choice

Wild Beauty definitely isn't (according to me) the best Anna Marie McLemore, in fact it's my least favourite. Lakelore is the best out of the three I've read, I'd say.
