I love that you put in Mysteries and thrillers in this video. I've been waiting. But I also enjoyed many other of your recommendations like bittersweet. I read a similar book and should review it on my channel with bitter sweet. I wish I could remember the name. I enjoyed your video. PS I don't think you should read one by one. Many booktubers say it's a dud. Aloha

I was *so* disappointed with the 'I'm thinking of ending things' adaptation... The ending of the book is brutal because of what it's talking about, and Kaufman transformed it into... You better watch it because otherwise you wouldn't believe it 😒 Also: thanks for recommending 'Circe'. I feel like not many people liked it and I love that witch! Also-also: 'The Martian' ❤️ I read it when it came out and I still think it was the best time I had reading a book. So so entertaining!

I read the book and I loved it. I was actually looking forward to seeing the movie - how they would portray the ending, how they would thread in the little nuggets of random conversations and transfer the overall creepiness of the book onto the screen. But then I saw the trailer, the weird dancing in the hallway, that dog that won't stop shaking and I preferred the movie I conjured in my mind, thank you.

Something with a character who learns to love themselves and embrace what they love... My really good recommendation would be the book (Dumplin). This book is about an overweight girl who already struggles with her weight but also the weight of a family loss of her most amazing aunt who taught her how to be herself. With her aunt out of the picture, it is like she had lost herself. Her mother being an ex-pageant queen has a high expectancy of her daughter that dumpling doesn't seem that she fits right in and it tears the relationship they have. After Dumplin finds something within the aunt's belongings she enters the pageant herself in spite of her mother to prove a point about what you can do which is anything you want no matter the size or the way you look. And I am not telling any more about the book, it is an amazing read and there is so much more about this book that hits personal insecurities that anyone may have and it is just that feel-good type of book with a high relation to it.

Since most people seem to have disliked the movie adaption of "I'm thinking of ending things" I must say that I absolutely loved the movie. My boyfriend and I analysed it after watching it and it DOES make sense - if you let it make sense to you. I think the movie is way more complicated than the book (in a neither good or bad way) so you have to ask yourself what all the metaphors mean to YOU. I also thinks it's super aesthetically pleasing. And while the car scene at the beginning is super slow, it's also important, I believe. I liked their conversation and how awkward and just LONG it was. It's not a movie for mindless entertainment but one to be watched with very open eyes and ears. Tho, the ballett scene was absolute trash and I hated it lol

I thought your Circe recommendation was spot on! Her full circle path to loving herself as is makes it one of my favorites. Such an empowering book.

I don’t know if it’s just me or you look a lot like Kirsten Dunst who played Mary Jane in the firsts spider man movies with Tobey Maguire. I love your videos by the way❤️

I’ve always thought so too! A mix of Kirsten Dunst and Miley Cyrus (for some reason)

If you liked The Snowman, I'd definitely recommend the sequel (though they can be read as stand-alones). I think the English title is The Leopard. I can also recommend The Headhunters by Nesbø

for a historical novel with a little bit of romance, i so so so recommend “the things we cannot say” by kelly rimmer!! such a good read, it was unpredictable (for me), romantic, and devastating. i think it would be worth a read :)

SO GOOD I want more recommendations from youuu Moms Petunia. Also, to the person looking for a romance without smut read, I recommend If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane! It's super fun, non-smutty but juuust sexually tense enough, and the main character is of mixed race in the UK. McFarlane deals with sort of heavy subjects while letting the main character also have her romance.
