I absolutely love those games, definitely encourage you to get back into them. Whenever you compare a book to them it makes me want to read that book immediately 😅

Finished Reading check & mate just Yesterday and i gave it 5 stars as well. I was blown away about How well done it was. Couldnt believe a YA romance could be so good! And it’s so Ali Hazelwood even though it’s YA. The book is everything you love about Ali Hazelwood. And I loved Reading about chess as well and I Also wanted to jump straight into my next Ali H. Book 🤭❤️ Also this book did for chess what Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Carrie Soto is back should have done for tennis!! (Sorry about the caps mixed in. It’s my autocorrect that’s going bonkers and correcting it is like playing chess with Koch!)

with regard to loving chess books, maybe take a look at some sports fiction? it's surprising how nerdy things can get behind the scenes. the reason good chess fiction (like queens gambit) works is because it takes tropes from sports fiction (passion, competition, training montages, etc)

22:17 I don't know what they do ghostwriters instead of just have the interview. BTS' memoire Beyond the Story is written by a journalist AND BTS because their words are transcribed, in italics, verbatim. The journalist did the interviews for several years and organized the information but it is very clear what are the journalist's words, usually providing context or connecting moments, and what are BTS' words, unaltered.

There's no need to apologise, there's no judgement - Stephen King is great, he's popular for a reason! He's written so many different kinds of things, this series of books being good for you makes sense ☺️ hope you do read more from him because I love his stuff - "11/22/63" and "Bazaar of Bad Dreams" are among my favourites on the newer side, "Misery" is horrifying and amazing, "The Long Walk" is brutal and gross but thought provoking and amazing

It can’t be classified as a romance genre book if you don’t know for sure that they’ll be together in the end. That happily ever after is a genre convention in the same way that a mystery book has to actually have a mystery. It doesn’t make it bad if it doesn’t, but it does make it a different genre.

Just found your channel. If you're going to read older Stephen King, don't read misery. I found it gratuitously violent. But I love his books mostly. Read It, Salem's lot, Tommy knockers, shawshank redemption, the body....was made into the movie stand by me. The shining, for me is fantastic and a great place to start. I haven't seen the movie of It, but the book is great
