It’s laudable you’ve embarked upon these 3 books; given the discipline it surely must require to stick with it. Very glad to see you again, Valerie, and thanks for sharing the video clips of Greece-what a beautiful country, and I hope you tell more about your trip in a future video. I’ve never investigated Greek poetry, especially these heavyweights, but I’ll tune in next time to hear more about them, and try to listen intelligently. Enjoy the summer!

Great video! I loved that you decided to embark on these 3 books at the same time. It was really interesting to hear you talk about the switching back and forth between perspectives, it must be so interesting to read them that way! I'm looking forward to part 2 😊

Your shot of the Greek theatre reminds me of the novel The Mask Of Apollo .In fact the author,Mary Renault, places some of her novels in the world of ancient Greece among which is a trilogy I have yet to read(although I do have two of the parts)about Alexander. If you ever compile a musical playlist to accompany your ancient Greek reads be sure to add Aegean Sea by Aphrodite's Child!🏵️

I've always read The Iliad from the Trojan perspective with the Greeks as villains. Poor Hector and Cassandra. 😭

I will be reading Emily Wilson's translation of the Iliad when it come out in Sept. 2023. I thought her translation of the Odyssey was excellent. 🏺
