Great reading month! I need to give Shakespeare another chance. I read a bit of Hamlet and Macbeth in high school, but I couldn't really get into any of it surprisingly. I think it's because I had a difficult time understanding it, or maybe it's because I didn't like to read the playscript format. But maybe I will have a different reaction now that I am older and have more reading experience. I read Fevre Dream by George R. R. Martin and really enjoyed it; I gave it 4 Stars. 🌟 It's a horror fantasy about steamboats and vampires on the Mississippi River in the 1800s. (That's it in a nutshell, anyway. lol.) Loved the descriptions of the river and the steamboats! The pacing is also good, and there's some great dialogue and intense action scenes. There is an interesting take on the vampire lore as well. Oh, and my favorite character, Captain Marsh, is a pretty cool and complex protagonist. A real tough and flawed guy with a heart of gold in some ways. Highly recommend! ⛴ 🧛‍♂️

Oh, both are great! Though I personally have a soft spot for the First Law trilogy, as it contains some of my most favorite fictional people ever 😅❤️

Lots of variety this month! Trouble with Peace is one of my favorite books of all time! Dark Matter I read in a day also and it was just so compelling. I thought Stone of Farewell was incredibly slow and I haven't picked up TGAT yet, but I will soon. I'll also be starting Men at Arms this month!

Abercrombie really did a fantastic job with that one! Yes, Stone of Farewell was something else. I remember the exact scene where I thought to myself "I am going to die of old age before I finish this". SLIGHT SPOILERS for Stone of Farewell below! It was the one with Binabik's trial. There were so many looks, and thoughts, and overlong telling of stories... He could've said all of those things with 3 times less words 😂 Still, a good book, though.

Yay for summarizing a really nice reading month 🥳 Thank you for all the reviews, I've added Guards, guards and Lee Child to my possible TBR ☺ And huge congratulations on so many books! I managed to read 4 out of 5 books thanks to the Lords of the Reads(that is my best month this year and I'm still proud😄), My picks were Warbreaker (5*), Us against You by Backman (4.5*), Finders Keepers by King (4*) and The Happy Ever After Playlist (3*) - all pretty different but also mostly pretty good :)

Thank you so much, Misa! ❤️ (Is that your real name? What country does it come from? Sorry, I am rather fond of new to me names) Oh, you did splendidly! Indeed, a very diverse list. I loooove Warbreaker and Backman is just a fantastic human being (said she knowing him only through his books 😅). Finders Keepers is one of the King books I haven't heard much about. I should check it out.

@@libraryunbounded You're so nice :) Misa (Míša) is the Czech shortcut for regular Michaela, pretty common then 😃 I quite understand your love for Sanderson now..... he really is a wonderful author; even though I found a few things in the Warbreaker that I didn't like, the other ones were superb and made the book very dear to me - I loved the flaws in the characters (like naivety and hidden pride in Vivenna), the turns in the story and especially Lightsong - kind of wish to read the book again right now and write down his thoughts 💘😆 I always liked Backman, but after reading Beartown.... to me he is definitely one of the genius people that is somewhat able to express some of the issues of our humanity and society in a very real but still humble manner 💯❤ Finders Keepers is the sequel to Mr. Mercedes if you are going to like that one 😉

Wow, what a FANTASTIC reading month you had! I loved the Into the Wild movie when I saw it years ago, and have been meaning to pick up the book since but still haven't. I'm also scared of rewatching the movie, because I worry I might not like it as much as the first time...

It was great indeed! It's normal to be worried to rewatch a favorite movie, when you know you've changed. But I think you shouldn't be scared to examine those changes and reevaluate old favorites. Sometimes, you discover new things you like about them. 😊 I've actually been meaning to watch the movie for so many years now. The fact that I still haven't is insane 😂

You are the third person in a very short amount of time that i've heard talking about Dark Matter. Is this the universe trying to tell me that i should read the book?

It is! I had a call with the Universe a few days ago and it was adamant that you, specifically, need to read this book. 😉✨ Dewit! (In my Palpatine voice)
